I've heard a lot of people use this word. Sometimes it's funny. But when used in the area of politics, it seems to be tossed around in a confusingly stupid manner. Let me explain.
Democrats are advocating for gun control or comprehensive gun legislation, and it doesn't get passed because Republicans blocked it. Then the Democrats host a sit-in after their 15-hour filibuster failed to produce plausible results. They are then labelled as "butthurt." Let me give you another example.
Whenever an act of brutality occurs to a minority because of their race affiliation and the people get upset about it, they are labelled as "butthurt."
This is simply the stupidest concept I've ever seen.
If you've read my other articles (or politically charged Facebook posts), you've seen the statistics that I've presented on racism in America as well as gun violence in the country. This is a real problem, but whenever we try to address it, we're seen as people who are stupidly angry about people dying. Of course we're angry about people dying. But that doesn't matter to these people, especially conservatives. Conservatives (who don't live up to their name at all) like to call liberals "butthurt" when we try to advocate for civil rights, equality and the like. How are we being butthurt when we are presenting you with real facts? Explain that to me. I want a conservative to come and tell me how I am being butthurt when I try to tell you that gun control is a necessary step in curving gun violence in this country. I want them to tell me how I am being butthurt when I advocate for equality for minorities. I want them to tell me how I am being butthurt when I advocate for my right to live as a whole, human being.
Tell me conservatives. Tell me how you can sit here and defend an Amendment that has no power for the right to bear arms in the present day. Tell me how you can sit here and watch dozens of people die and your only response is "we send our condolences and prayers to the grieving families". Tell me how you sleep at night knowing that your unprecedented obstruction has thrown our country into more economic and social discord than any democrat that I have researched. Not to say that democrats are infallible beings. I know they're not. I know they're flawed. But at least they're taking a stand against some of this chaos.
I ask you who are reading this. How do you feel about the way your country is? How do you feel about the fact that our (un-democratically) elected officials sit on their thrones made of gold, scintillate themselves with our hard earned money and send you and your families off to fight their wars and hate against people who harbor no harsh feelings towards you? Tell me how you feel about the truth not having any real bearing on the future of your (so-called) great country?
