This chaotic election season has finally come to the main event. Without a doubt, history has been made and emotions are high everywhere across the nation. It seems as if there is nothing to talk about now other than the election, and frankly I'm sick of hearing about it. Here are 26 things to do other than talk about the election.

1. Eat a nice meal

2. Go for a walk

3. Go to a pet store and look at puppies and kittens

4. Bake a cake

5. Watch a movie

6. Go on a road trip

7. Take a nap

8. Read a book

9. Go on a shopping spree

10. Make a list of things you could be doing besides talking about the election

11. Call your parents

12. Go explore a city

13. Walk a dog

14. Listen to some new music

15. Learn to play a new instrument

16. Write a short story

17. Watch the news to see what else is going on in the world other than our election

18. Learn a new language

19. Call an old friend

20. Go outside and enjoy the nice weather

21. Or stay inside and nap through the bad weather

22. Read some good news

23. Learn a few interesting facts

24. Take a bubble bath

25. Binge watch an entire season on Netflix

26. Literally anything else

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
