Nine Things We Think About While Working Out

So you've made the commitment to be healthy and work out at least an hour almost every day. Yay! Go you! Unfortunately, working out isn't the most entertaining activity out there. Our minds tend to wander, doing its own cardio work out racing from thought to idea, as we ascend the stair climber for hours on end. Thankfully, our favorite girls from "Orange is the New Black" understand just what we are going through and will help us through the pain.

1. If I burn enough calories now I can have ice cream when I'm done.

Let's be real, sometimes thinking about food is the only way we can make it through a half hour on the elliptical.

2. Oh God, who decided that exercise reduces stress? This is awful!

You question your sanity every time you begin to work out and wonder if endorphins actually reduce your perception of pain or increase it.

3. Those people are judging me, I know it.

Whenever you walk into the back room where all the guys are or get on the treadmill next to those "models," you always feel like they are instantaneously judging you. Most likely than not they aren't paying any attention to you, but still, WHAT IF THEY ARE?

4. Do I smell? No way I smell.

There's that familiar stench again, but no, no way is it you.

5. Oh wait that is me.

IF YOU AREN'T SWEATING YOU AREN'T TRYING. Just keep telling yourself that until you can get some deodorant.

6. This song is my jam! I can run for miles!

Your favorite song comes on Pandora and all you can think about is having a mini dance party in your head. Pandora is feeling your vibe and keeps giving you all those throwbacks that completely distract you from the pain of running. Before you know it, you just ran four miles on level eight!

7. Why does my Zumba instructor think I can move my body like Shakira?

Every timeyou go to Zumba, your instructor keeps Latin music pumping through the speakers and is shaking her hips so fast and rhythmic and she expects you to do the same. Does she know that all you can think about during these workouts is a large margarita and a bowl of chips and salsa?

8. Can this girl please stop bragging to her friend on the phone about how many miles she just ran on the treadmill?

There is always that one person at the gym that posts pictures of herself at the gym every time she's there to prove that she actually goes to the gym. But you have kept an eye on her and the most she does is walk on the treadmill for five minutes! Ugh.

9. The only thing getting me through this work out is what I'm going to look like when I'm done.

We all have our reasons for working out, to be healthier, to lose a little extra fat, to tone up, but your main reason for working out is to look fabulous.

We all hate working out, but at the same time we love it. We love to sweat and see the progress we are making. Sometimes working out feels like a drag and there is no end in sight, but when you can see the results yourself, that feeling is unlike any other. See, working out isn't always bad.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
