9 Things People Who Don't Do Mornings Know All Too Well

Because no one actually enjoys waking up.

Everyone has a preferred time of the day. Some people can stay up until 3 a.m. with no issues while others are perfectly content with the early afternoon. There are also others that wake up like a Disney princess, with birds singing and the sun shining gracefully down upon their face. But then you have the ever-so-special group of people, including myself, who HATE anything and everything about the mornings.

Truthfully, I don't think anyone likes waking up. Beds are the comfiest in the morning when you actually have to get up and think about your responsibilities. But if you're not a morning person, waking up is probably the hardest (okay, maybe one of the hardest) things you will do all day. So if you're a person who doesn't like mornings, this list is for you.

Here are the signs you're NOT a morning person:

1. Groaning when your alarm goes off.

No one actually likes hearing it go off, but it’s even worse if you hate mornings.

2. Staring at the ceiling or just laying there to prep yourself for getting out of bed.

You would literally rather be doing anything else over trying to wake up right now.

3. First priority? Coffee.

Forget going to the bathroom first, coffee is more important.

4. No coffee, no talkie.

If you luck out and live by yourself, then you have no issues. But if you don’t, people can see the wrath in your eyes. So if they enjoy living, they better not talk.

5. If there is talkie, there will be problems.

Or just don’t talk and everything will be okay. And you will live another day.

6. Having to convince yourself to do anything and everything.

You just sit and often begin getting ready at the last minute. Because you would, once again, rather be doing anything else.

7. Sitting in the silence for as long as possible.

See above.

8. Avoiding human interactions at all costs.

Other people are the last thing you want to deal with in the morning. No physical touch, eye contact, nothing. Stay away.

9. Having more coffee.

When in doubt, have another cup. Or two. Or three. The sky is the limit.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
