Nice Guys Finish First

Being the "bad boy" is so yesterday.

Nice Guys Finish First

You have the bad boy that girls flock to, the nerd, the jocks and the nice guy. For years it has always been a stigma that, “nice guys finish last,” that no one wants to be with the nice guy. I am here to rebut that statement.

Nice guys rule the world in my opinion. To find a nice guy makes a girl the luckiest girl in the world. When you have a boy who, to others, is viewed as the "nice guy" you are treated with respect and you are truly loved. The nice guy doesn’t play games because game playing isn’t in him to do. He is a true man and a gentleman. He takes you and shows you off and you are truly the only girl who matters.

When you are dealing with a boy who is not a nice guy you never really get to feel this great and healthy relationship feeling. It may seem as though he’s the “man of your dreams” but saying hurtful words, playing head games and being cheated on is not the way to live through life. Girls are worth so much more than that. If you are reading this and you have a guy like that in your life, I can’t tell you who to be with, but I can tell you to think about how your man really treats you.

Nice guys are always there. You probably know a few of them. They are not the guy whom you matched on Tinder the other night, they are probably the ones that you call "just a friend," or the one who asked you on a cute date a few weeks ago that you turned down because you are waiting for the bad boy to call you back. I hear girls say all the time “good boys do not exist,” but yes they really do.

If you only talk to the guy that you know will break your heart then that is all you will ever get. There are nice guys out there. It may seem impossible to find at moments in your life, but believe me there is a population of good boys near you. You just need to start searching for them in different places. Not at the bar, on Tinder or the next party that you are invited to.

I know many guys who are great! Some have girlfriends and others do not, the ones with girlfriends treat their girls so sweet and the guys that do not can’t wait to start treating their future girl the way they have been raised to do. Meeting my nice guy has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. He knows me better than I know myself. He knows my favorite foods, he makes me laugh, he’s close to my parents and he listens.

Having a guy who actually listens to you is the key to a healthy relationship. If you guys can truly communicate, care and listen to one another you truly have a beautiful relationship. At this time I would like to thank all of the nice guys this world has to offer. Especially my boyfriend - thanks for being so good to me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
