When it comes to setting a goal for the upcoming year, keep it simple.
Coming up with a realistic New Year's resolution can be tough. Often times, people come up with resolutions that are very difficult to follow. A few examples include: working out daily, cutting certain foods or products out of their life or achieving success. While these resolutions seem promising, they are difficult to follow and sometimes achieving these goals can be totally out of our control. So, instead of choosing a resolution that is unmanageable, let's choose something that we can realistically achieve.
Instead of choosing to work out daily, let's make a goal to work out three times each week. This is more manageable.
Instead of choosing to cut desserts out of our diet, let's make a goal to only have dessert twice a week.
Instead of choosing to find happiness, let's make a goal to do at least one thing each week that makes us happy. Something that makes me happy is talking on the phone with my parents. Since I am at college, I sometimes lose touch with my parents. However, it is not difficult to find a day and time each week to chat with them.
Make a measurable goal that is realistic for you. How amazing would it be if you actually achieved your New Year's resolution this year?
