It is finally over. 2016 is now a year in the books and we are onto 2017. With the new year brings a time of thinking and remembering all that happened throughout it. But what the new year is most famous for are New Years Resolutions. To most people, a New Years Resolution is something never carried out for the entire year. For instance, someone saying they are going to become physically fit and work out every day, but stopping after the second week because of various reasons (this is me), or someone telling themselves that they are going to eat less fast food and cook more home meals but giving in the third day of the year because they just need a Big Mac (this is also me). The point is, New Years Resolutions are not usually carried out the whole year.
But what if they were? So many times we focus on such large things that we want to change, whenever there are little things we can work on right in front of us. Don't get me wrong, it is a great goal to become fit and exercise every day, but how do you plan on getting there?
So, as 2017 begins, I am excited to say that my "New Years Resolution" is... Love. As I begin my last semester of my sophomore year, I will be working on enjoying and loving every moment that I have. This is something I know will take all year, but I am willing to take a small approach to it now in hopes of making a change by the end of 2017.
So, whatever your New Years Resolution may be, don't give up on it. 2017 is only starting, and you have all year to work on it. Happy New Years everyone!
