Best Friend Books is working on the release of two more books, "Small Things" and "Is, Was, Will Be". We feel driven to get these books out into the world — the messages in these books couldn't be more relevant.

"Small Things" is inspired by a Mother Theresa quote, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." In describing "Is, Was, Will Be," Lisa writes:

"When we struggle with transitions in our lives, it can cause anxiety and stress. It is important to learn how to cope with change because it truly is the only constant in life. “Is, Was, Will Be” offers a simple and comforting mantra for everyone…young children to adults...to help us remember that change often brings about new and sometimes unanticipated beauty in our lives."

These illustrations for these books will be a bit of a departure from the whimsical illustrations of our first three titles. I told Lisa, that I feel these drawings will be much more natural and realistic (that is, as realistic as my style allows). The drawings are gentle and simple—like slow drops of rain on a lake. I hope that the final images, like the text, are universal and visually do justice to the manuscript.

By this time next year, our goal is to have 10 books. It's a big goal, but we're determined. As 2016 comes to a close, all of us will face moral and ethical challenges to everything we believe. We hope our books will help provide confidence and comfort in the midst of great change, to the children that will inherit our world.

Our newest book, "You Can Sit with Me," was released last week. To follow our progress, please visit our website, http://www.bestfriendbooks.com and follow us on Facebook @bestfriendbooksinfo.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
