For the past month, I have been learning how to eat right and work out the right way so I can live a healthier life. Now before you stop reading thinking I am about to self hate or speak negatively about others; I am not. I am just discussing my journey so maybe one other person can learn to love themselves and to make a positive start. I was inspired by two of my sisters who wrote two articles that made me want to write something that hopefully help someone.
For years, i have hated myself for being the way I was. Instead of changing I would look at other people and judge them. I never thought maybe that "skinny" girl may have her own inner battle to deal with. Wanting to look nice for recruitment and to get that "sparkle" in my smile again, I decided that I need a change. A real change in my life. I have tried to lose weight. I wanted ro be skinny and pretty, but it never worked because I was wanting it for the wrong reason. It seems that being skinny and pretty are just two things that go hand and hand. I have seen plenty of girls who are not "skinny" and are beautiful.
So I decided to lock my little green monster up and really start my journey to live a healthy lifestyle. Hitting the gym ( which I use to never go to due to my fear of being judge) and eating good, healthy food has been my life for the past month. If you would have asked me if i would be doing this a year ago I would have sadly said I wish.
It's no easy sometimes but I know that when I am truly healthy; it will be worth it. Every step of the way I have had so much support from friends and family who know I can do it and can't wait for the happy, goofy girl to be back in full swing. Every Friday when I step on the scale I smile no matter what; because I know it's a journey and sometimes there will be bumps but there is also treasures.
So let's stop hating ourselves and others and let's just be positive because we all have something to be grateful for, am I right?
