Sometimes the hiring companies need Schmidt's Douche Bag Jar.

Many college students are applying to summer internships and getting their foot in the professional world. We all know what it feels like to apply for a job. Each student knows the struggles that come along with applying for internships. The hardest part is applying for an internship that wants experience in the field, and you are thinking to yourself, "What? This is the experience I need!" The characters of "New Girl" perfectly express the process of applying to internships.

1. "Must be ___ major to apply."

Giphy

I personally think that your major should have something to do with the field you may want to go into. However, it sucks that some students can't even apply to certain internships even though you may be qualified besides that one criterion.

2. "Must be a rising senior."

Giphy

Are you serious? That is not fair! Those who aren't rising seniors still need internships. Yeah, I get that the company may want to hire the internship after the summer for a full-time position, but why not a sophomore or junior?

3. "Include your resume."

https://gfycat.com/gifs/search/dwj

Yeah, creating a resume can be difficult and overwhelming. What do I add to experience if this my first time applying to internships? Do I need a simple or fancy resume? Does it need to be on that thick shiny paper or is normal paper fine? Do companies actually read my resume when I submit it or email it?

4. Price of summer internship

https://giphy.com/gifs/new-girl-zooey-deschanel-nB6lKZcLMPsHu

Is the internship worth not goofing around all summer with your best friends and staying up late? Will it be too overwhelming? Will I actually gain experience or will it just stress me out?

5. "Unpaid"

https://gph.is/ZZESyq

Uhhhhh, no. I will not accept an internship that does not pay me. You shouldn't either! It is a joke and absolutely not worth the job!

6. *No Response*

Giphy

Getting nothing back from a company you applied to is the worst. It is actually worse than getting that rejection email. You put all this energy into researching and applying to the internship for the company to not reply. It is rude and makes life feel crappy.

7. "We'd like to set up a time for an interview."

Giphy

It worked! Your hard work paid off and you got the interview. Now the process isn't quite over but it is looking a lot better.

Now it is time for the interview. The interview can be a scary phase but you got this! The hard work is over now. An interview is basically a professional first date! Some are bad, some are great, and the others are in between. If the company does not choose you as their next summer intern, the cycle starts over again with applying. It may seem endless, but you got this!

14 Signs Lake Water Runs Deep In Your DNA

Things that only lake people can relate to.

If you grew up having a boat, have lived on a lake or have been a boat owner for most of your life, chances are you have lake water in your blood. Thus, you are a probably classified by society as a "lake person" or a part of the "lake people." You know you are a lake person if...

1. You have a lot of friends and people are very nice to you.

Especially in the summer months. You've figured out that your seasonal popularity is due to your boat ownership. People want friends with boats, not one for themselves because they've probably heard you complain about the numerous times you have to repair your boat.

2. You wave to everyone, whether you know them or not.

This is a societal norm out on the pond. There is no such thing as a stranger when everyone is having a good time out on the lake. Boat ownership fosters a unique sense of unity.

3. You drove a boat before you drove a car.

Your first time behind the wheel was on the water and you might have been as young as 4 or 5 years old. However, you learned quickly that driving a boat is nothing like driving a car.

4. You know how to wear a life jacket like a pair of pants.

Swimming and socializing in the water is more comfortable when you are floating diaper style.

5. You've slept in your swimsuit... multiple times.

The sun, water, and other lake-like elements can leave you feeling zonked. Sometimes, you're just too tired to care about changing into real clothes. Besides, if you sleep in your swimsuit you're ready to resume your activities as soon as you wake up.

6. You've seen more couples argue on a boat ramp than on Jerry Springer.

A true test of a relationship is backing a boat into the water for the first time. People really show their true colors when the truck is about to plunge into the lake or when their boat falls off the trailer.

7. You have a “lake pair" of everything.

You know not to bring really nice possessions to the lake. Either you've learned this lesson the hard way or just ask yourself “could I wear or bring this to the lake" before you buy anything.

8. Peeing in the lake is perfectly normal.

If you're a polite lake person, you probably swim around 10 yards away from your friends before you drain the tank. You've most likely used the excuse, “Oh wow, the water is warmer right here. I must be in a shallow spot."

9. No shoes, no shirt, no problem, and you probably have a raccoon tan-line from your sunglasses.

The bottoms of your feet are immune to just about any temperature thanks to all the times you've shuffled across a radiating dock.

10. There is a cove for every occasion.

There's a party cove, a fishing cove, a cove for water sports, a family cove, a romantic cove and you know exactly where they are at. You just tend to avoid public beaches.

11. You know who Jimmy Buffet and Alan Jackson are.

If you don't know these two names then you're not really a lake person.

12. Your boat is a hydration station.

It gets hot out there on the water so you know how to keep your body's cooling system in check. Your boat has probably held the same amount of Bud Light, water, Gatorade, and home-made margaritas as it has in gallons of gasoline.

13. You know how to get back up again after you fall down.

You've been thrown off a tube, wiped out on a wakeboard and taken spills on skis some many times that you could not even begin to count them all. Nevertheless, you learn from your mistakes, laugh it off and get right back to it.

14. You accept and love things for how they are.

Despite your boat (that always seems to something wrong with it) your nutty family members, irrational friends or crazy neighbors, you know deep down you wouldn't trade any of them in for anything. They have given you a lifetime of stories, laughs, and lessons that can only be learned out on the lake.

10 Reasons The Ocean Is The Best Cure-All With A Little Dose Of Vitamin Sea

"We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch- we are going back from whence we came." -John F. Kennedy

The best remedy in the world consists of a little bit of fresh air blowing through your hair mixed with some salt water trickling down your skin. The ocean is refreshing, vastly mysterious, colorfully beautiful, and very humbling.

Here are 10 reasons why the ocean is the best cure-all around.

1. The ocean is a playground.

https://giphy.com/explore/scuba-diving

Sand dunes, fishing, surfing, scuba diving, cage diving, parasailing, snorkoling the list goes on. It is a never-ending pit of fun creating natures best playground.

2. It changes your perspective

https://giphy.com/explore/crashing-waves

Every time a wave crashes, it never fails to recede back into the ocean and build up a new swell again. Fall down 9 times stand up 10. Simple as that.

3. Jump in!

A brisk shock of cold water stimulates the entire body with an adrenaline rush, promoting circulation and heart health. It also helps to use up calories to persereve body temperature and helps to burn fat.

4. Ocean water is different then fresh water

https://giphy.com/explore/ocean

Ocean water has significantly higher amounts of minerals such as chloride, sodium, calcium, sulfate, and magnesium. These minerals are great for treating skin conditions and wounds.

5. Saltwater solutions

https://boingboing.net/2017/09/25/great-behind-the-scenes-video.html

Ocean water can help reduce symptoms of fevers and respiratory symptoms due to the saline effect of the lining of sinuses reducing inflammation.

6. It's a distraction from life

https://www.onlinesciencemall.com/collections/books/products/animated-floating-otter-3d-bookmark-ruler-by-emotion-gallery

Floating on salt water is easier to do than fresh water because the salt makes the water more dense which allows you to have an easier time floating. This can create a calming effect, which can even slow down brain waves providing a slight distraction from life while also giving a sense of mindfulness.

7. 2.2 million species live in the ocean

https://giphy.com/gifs/fish-underwater-ZTAojHK9IHsSQ

2.2 million!!!! Between 50- 80% of all life on Earth is under the sea and a large sum of it has not even been discovered yet. How crazy is it that out of all the different species in the world we were chosen to be humans?

8. Sugar cookie!

https://giphy.com/explore/rolling-sand

Rolling around in warm sand after stepping out of the ocean is one of the best feelings in the world. Sand is also a great exfoliator for the skin, unless you get sand flees. That is never fun.

9. Plankton

https://gifer.com/en/MqJU

Need a breath of some fresh oxygen? Take a trip to the ocean! Without plankton, we would not be alive. Plankton is providing 90% of the ocean's photosynthesis and also 50- 85% of the oxygen we are breathing right now! Sea air is actually composed of healthy negative ions that help to build up our bodies capacity to absorb more oxygen. Talk about clearing your mind!

10. The ocean is home.

https://www.azula.com/ocean-quotes-tattoos-2499986333.html

No matter what coast you are on or where you find yourself in the world, as long as you can make your way down to the rolling salt water, the ocean is always going to be there promising to be an everlasting home for you. Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic, Southern, Indian- it does not matter which one you are at because the ocean is always going to be just that; the ocean, a place to call home.

Never pass up the opportunity to go to the beach. The ocean can help change our minds to the way we perceive our lives through the enchanting beauties that come with the mysteries of the depths, or even in the serenity of the shoreline.

For all that the ocean gives to help us, it is so important that we give back to the ocean.

Take care of her and all the life that she bears because the most important lesson that I learned from the ocean is that as much as the ocean gives, the ocean also takes. As much as she can cure us, she can also really hurt us. Respecting the ocean and its limits are something that I can not stress enough, and I want to urge you to never underestimate the power that the ocean bares.
