Starting my freshman year of college away from home made me realize a lot of important things. Most importantly, it taught me to always make the best of situations much like the characters on "New Girl." Across the board, the characters seem to sum up the new experiences that most freshmen are currently up against.
1. When your parents leave after move-in day and it finally hits you that you have endless amounts of freedom (okay not really, but we all felt that way):
2. Meeting your first friends at school and realizing you may have to warn them about your personality:
3. On the first day of classes when you have to introduce yourself to everybody and share an interesting fact about yourself:
4. Feeling SO confident about your first assignment and you finally get the feedback you've been waiting for:
5. When people (who aren't a broke college student) tell you they understand how it is to be broke and in college:
6. Having to choose your classes for the next semester but having no clue what classes you want to take:
7. Finding out what's on your finals and realizing how much you have to study so you don't fail them:
8. Getting to your classes on the first day and realizing you don't know anybody in any of them and have to decide who to sit next to:
9. When the temperature drops below 40 degrees and you to have to talk yourself into leaving your dorm room because you may freeze to death while walking to class:
10. When you're not homesick anymore and realize you get to spend the next three and a half years at your favorite place and with your best friends:
All in all, the characters on "New Girl" always make the best of a situation. This show perfectly describes freshman year and the new and exciting situations freshmen experience.
