The first semester of college has quickly come to a close. In no way am I sad about this; if I wasn't sitting down typing this I would be jumping for joy. It was a long semester, I still don't know if I'm adjusted to college life. But now as I sit in my own home, fresh out of my own shower that I didn't have to share, I find myself reflecting over the past months. It seems like I owe some people a few thank-yous to. So listen up those of you who have come to enjoy my company. I've got a few things to say.
Thank you for actually being my friends. I know that orientation week thrust us together and we were forced to like each other for a week. But after that week ended you could've stopped being my friend. Thank you for not dropping me like a hot potato. I know that I came to college with some friends already, but I was scared everyone would hate me and I wouldn't make any new friends. However, in these past few months you all have easily become some of my closest friends.
Thank you for teaching me the weird words you use in the places you come from. I don't know if I could've lived life any longer without words like 'lit', 'dude', 'wicked','gnarly','mad', and so many others. Also thank you for explaining Michigan hipster towns and what Californians use board shorts for. Those were truly mysteries before you all came along.
Thank you for not judging my Netflix addiction. Instead I have seen you all slowly start watching more and more Netflix. I am very sorry if I've ruined your study habits, but hey at least you're having fun! Thank you for letting me tell you about all the shows and movies you should watch. I'm sure it gets annoying and you might never watch them, but thank you for listening.
Thank you for all the advice you've given. Thank you for letting me give you my terrible advice. Thank you for making me laugh and smile. Thank you for watching movies and baking cookies with me. Thank you for actually making me study when I need to. Thank you for everything you have done this semester. Although I am so happy to be home for three weeks, I will miss you all so much. I look forward to our Facetime dates and massive group texts. Have a great break and I'll see you soon!
