When people think of Disney, they think of the magic. That’s what the company is about, after all. Disney promotes a place for dreams to come true, and rightfully so when the creator himself started the company this way.
As a kid, I grew up with Disney-themed movies always playing in the living room. Either Aladdin would fly by on the screen or Tinker Bell would be throwing pixie dust everywhere. My younger sisters and I found joy in the replay of characters and their various stories.
Theme parks made it all the better, and being the six-year-old that I was, everything came to life. It still does now that I’m older, and I’d be lying if I said my family wasn’t taking a trip to Florida this summer.
My parents and grandparents find equal enjoyment in the characters too, and why not? Not everything is directly related to kids, even though that may be the company’s main focus in marketing.
Each of the parks offer adult-related things to do, especially Epcot which offers an annual wine festival each year. They too can forget about their worries at home and experience the joy that the park has to offer. Many parents also went to the theme parks when they were younger, so it’s also a place to reminisce about their childhood years.
Disneyland’s California location recently had a celebratory party/parade for the park’s 60th anniversary, and thousands of park-goers of all ages attended. Their famous light-up parade and fireworks had the crowd in awe. The park will be celebrating this milestone until September or until they start their Halloween-themed events.
Several celebrate birthdays and honeymoons too, and Disney caters to it all. The company stimulates happiness and that’s what people think of when they hear the name.
From the all the excitement the company as given me alone, I will forever consider myself a Disney-lover, no matter what age I may be. I find myself continuing the family tradition and keeping the company as one of lifetime-value.
