"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." -Anatole France
People call me "the animal vigilante," for many reasons. Yes, it is true. I love animals, all animals. I have been mocked and ridiculed for caring so much about animals. And honestly, I am proud of it. They deserve respect and love just as humans do. But obviously, many animals are hurt and neglected because of places like zoos and aquariums. These cruel places claim to be strictly built for "research," and "learning." But we all should know they are full of it. They tell us what we want to hear and what we should believe in.
I first became horrified by aquariums such as Sea World, after watching the movie "BlackFish." It was in this very moment that I realized how horrific aquariums and zoos really are. They make it appear as though they want people to learn about these animals, but in reality, they kill animals in the process of capturing them as well as separate them from their families.
In the image above, we see Tilikum, a well-known orca with a collapsed dorsal fin. Take note, this is not normal. Collapsed dorsal fins show signs of unhealthy and stressed orcas. In other words, they do not belong here for our entertainment.
Now, just imagine. You are a baby whale and all of a sudden these large scary objects are coming at you and your mom, trying to separate you. You witness your mother and father being killed, and you are taken to a giant bath tub. Would you like it? I don't think so. Therefore, if you wouldn't like it, what makes these people think these animals would appreciate and love them?
Newsflash. They don't. Animals deserve to be in the wild, in their natural habitat where they belong. Animals deserve rights, just as humans do. But because we think we deserve everything in this world, we take these precious animals for granted. Just think about it. Our grandchildren won't even be able to see animals like the polar bear or cheetah, due to the fact that people are poaching them and capturing them to live in giant tubs and cages. It's sickening. I have made a promise to myself that I will never ever go to another zoo or aquarium as long as I live. By going to these unethical, money-making industries, you support them and their disgusting beliefs.
There is no excuse for people to build zoos and aquariums in this day and age. We have so much technology at the tips of our fingers, that we can simply google, youtube and watch videos on these same exact animals and species at any point of the day. I have heard people say, "Well I want to see these animals up close and personal." Do you? Do you really want to see a beautiful creature that belongs in Africa in a zoo in Cincinnati? How fair are you being to that animal? Oh. That's right. You're not. We, as human beings, are inherently selfish. All we care for is ourselves. It's time to stop the madness of these sickening institutions and realize we do not need them.
In the image above you can see a bear held in captivity, staring at a wall. This is unusual and abnormal behavior. Just ponder on this for a minute.
They are money-making industries, they don't care about the wellbeing of animals. It is all a scheme to make money. Duh. So the next time you want to see a cheetah or whale up close and personal, just remember that the way scientists study planets are by reading books, doing research and observing from afar. Stop being lazy, read a book on animals, watch a video if you need to and keep your money. Respect all lives. Respect animals. God created them for our health and wellbeing, stop disrespecting him and them and appreciate them for what and who they are.
People get so shocked when humans die during Sea World shows. But should they really be that shocked? You've kept a killer whale in a bathtub for 20+ years. They have natural, animal instincts. You should know better Sea World and all zoos. Shame on us for blaming these creatures. It is not fair to punish the animals when they have done so. After all, it was your genius idea to captivate these creatures.
Wake up world. It's not just our lives that matter here.
