What! Never heard of Kitchen Foodie?
Aren’t you tired of spending so much money on junk food? Or eating the same meals from popular fast food restaurants every day? If you decided to set aside an hour a week just to make a different meal that will save you so much money and time, I bet life would be less stressful. Kitchen Foodie; do those words sound familiar? Today I will be introducing, describing, and telling you the importance of a Kitchen Foodie.
I have always loved cooking/baking since I was a teenager. Among my few talents like playing the keyboard, track and field, and dancing, cooking/baking stood out for me. Whenever I am in the kitchen, I am extremely overwhelmed. Sometimes during my leisure time, I will watch food videos on YouTube just for the fun of it. I am extremely passionate about cooking/baking. I can spend all day watching and practicing how to cook/bake; I never stop learning to improve my cooking/baking skills, and will never stop.
At the age of 16, I was still in my home country, Nigeria. Back then, I would usually visit my neighbor who I called “Aunty Chidinma.” Aunty Chidinma was a caterer and an entrepreneur; I would always visit her on the 2nd floor to assist her with catering at any time, whether my help was needed or not. Sometimes, I would go meet her at 7:30 am to learn a thing or two about food. To me, it was never too late or too early to learn anything that involved cooking/baking. When it comes to cooking/baking, she was the one I looked up to because we shared the same passion and she was always willing to patiently teach me and even tolerate my too many questions.
Now I am in the United States, as a college student majoring in Finance, and of course, I will love to work in a bank someday to display all the skills, knowledge, and experience which I have gained from the classroom in the real world. On the other hand, I also want to participate in an activity I am passionate about, which is why I decided to create my own cooking channel to show and teach my secret recipes to everyone interested in cooking. For my channel, I want to create memorable content by exhibiting my unique skills in cooking/baking because viewers love things they can remember. I will use great video titles to catch the viewers’ attention, and attractive thumbnail images of my meals to make viewers select my video from their searches.
How Kitchen Foodie was originated:
Since I knew what I wanted to do, I decided to create a name related to the content I intend to showcase, I wanted something catchy, simple and unique. For a few minutes, I brainstormed. I thought of the word “foodie,” it already existed; then I decided to conjoin another food word and there came “Kitchen Foodie.” For this channel, I wanted my target audience to be broad; a channel that can serve everyone, what they relate to and participate in. The second step I took was to create a page. On June 30th, 2015, I created an Instagram page and gave it the title “Kitchen_Foodie." I never had enough time to videotape my meals because I just got into my senior year in college and I was quite busy with classes. I only posted pictures of a few of my meals, and also decided to showcase meals of other huge food pages on Instagram and giving credit to them by hashtagging them. However, I started following people to make them aware of the page and I was able to gain more than 10,000 followers on Instagram. On December 22nd, 2016 I got done editing my first video on oatmeal pancakes and posted it on my YouTube page “Kitchen Foodie.” I wanted my video to be on a popular, simple, and unique meal so I went for oatmeal pancakes.
Why Kitchen Foodie will be different/ what to expect:
The aim of Kitchen Foodie is to showcase different types of meals cooked and baked all over the world. There are so many tasty delicacies today that people aren’t aware of and because of that, they have never tried. Kitchen Foodie is here to give you food at its best! We are going to create our own garnished meals that will be easy and quick to prepare. We are going to be different from other cooking channels like Tasty, Cooking panda, etc., because those channels show mostly American dishes, but Kitchen Foodie will be worldwide; remember we are trying to reach the largest audience possible.

Kitchen Foodie officially launched On December 22nd, 2016, with our first video being Oatmeal Pancakes.
