Ever wonder if there was a chance to actually go to Hogwarts? Or possibly your life dream would be to jump right into the Star Wars films and join in on the action? Or maybe just feel like you’re in the Tardis for a day. All of these goals are (almost) attainable due to three places spread out across the world. There is a College of Wizardry, which is completely inspired by Hogwarts. There is a place you can train and become a Jedi Master. And there is also a place you can enjoy a cup of tea where you are surrounded by Doctor Who references and fans. So, without further ado, here are these fantasy stories that have entered reality.
1. College of Wizardry: Czocha Castle, Poland
For all of those who love Harry Potter and have wanted to go to Hogwarts, your chance has arrived. There is now a place where you can go to a version of Hogwarts inspired by the College of Wizardry. The cost of attending this college is around $400 USD. This is not actually a full-time college. It is a four-day experience where people can role play and act as if they are a wizard or a witch. The College of Wizardry and the four days would be spent almost exactly like you were a real wizard or witch at Hogwarts. This includes classes, exploring the castle, and being sorted into houses. If you ever wanted a real chance at being your favorite Harry Potter character, this is your chance.
2. East Coast Sabers: Frederickson, New Brunswick, Canada
Maybe Harry Potter isn’t your cup of tea, but have you ever wished to be a Jedi? Well, East Coast Sabers is a place where you are able to train and eventually become a Jedi Master. This is a place where you can train and learn the choreography behind wielding a light saber. People join this for many reasons, but one aspect of it is that if you are good enough you could even go on to be a stunt double or go into stage combat.
3. Pandorica Restaurant: Beacon, New York, USA
All Whovians are welcome here. This a Doctor Who themed restaurant where there are Doctor Who episodes playing, trivia nights, foods, drinks and teas. Even the food contains references to the show. Some items include fish fingers and Custard, The Sally Sparrow Duck Salad, who-mmus and Madame De Pompadour Cake. So, for those who have always wanted to be in a communal place with people who love Doctor Who just as much as you, this is the place to be. So bring your sonic screwdrivers and prepare for the many clever references.
As you can see, you have to be a pretty big fan of any of these shows to really appreciate and love these places. These may seem a bit over the top, but for super fans, this is a bit like a Heaven. So, happy nerding out to everyone with the discovery of these new places!
