I have always really, really liked Bath & Body Works; I sometimes consider myself a “hand soap snob.” There is just something magical about how your hands feel after using a really great-smelling, high-quality hand soap. I am also a frequent user of Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer, lotion, perfume and air fresheners.
In early November, Bath & Body Works released holiday 2014 fragrances. Recently, I went in to a store to investigate the current scents (and maybe buy a few things I noticed were on sale while I was there).
Upon entering the store, I was hit with an overpowering whiff of 70 different smells at once and a sense of chaos, from the familiar traditional holiday collection to new scents like Evergreen (which smells exactly like a Christmas tree) and Vanilla Snow Flake (which is a really confusing smell — I was not sure what it was supposed to smell like even after I smelled it).
I spent a long time in the store smelling candles, hand soap, lotion, etc. and taking notes (I think everyone in there thought I was crazy). I have compiled a list of my top five favorite fragrances this holiday season. I hope this information will save you some trouble in navigating Bath & Body Works this year.
1. Winter Candy Apple
This is my favorite holiday scent by far and has been a favorite of my family for years. The sweet smell of candied applies echoes the holiday cheer surrounding the season. Winter Candy Apple is simply the best.
2. Vanilla Bean NoelDescribed on the Bath & Body Works website as, “A happy holiday favorite of vanilla bean, rich cocoa, sweet cream and a touch of caramel,” I do not think it would be too far to say this is the classic Bath & Body Works holiday fragrance.
3. Merry Cookie
Nothing says, “Merry Christmas!” quite like my mom’s kitchen when she is baking cookies. I would highly recommend this one in candle form.
4. Fresh Sparkling Snow
This is a newer scent, but I really like it. It is a really good, clean smell — perfect for a hand soap.
5. Butterscotch Toffee
Personally, I am a lover of all things toffee. This scent only comes as an air freshener or a candle, but I would love for my whole room to smell like this.
So this holiday season, do not get too overwhelmed with everything in Bath & Body Works; just find the good stuff. It’s worth it. Some of my favorite gifts, both to give and receive, have come out of this chaotic but wonderful winter wonderland of fragrance.
