With summer just beginning, there’s no better way to beat the heat than with an All-American favorite: ice cream! On a hot, sunny day at the beach, nothing cools your palate faster than a heaping double-scoop waffle cone with all the right toppings. What better way to celebrate the start of the vacation season than combining ice cream with another fan favorite: chocolate. Just in time for National Chocolate Ice Cream Day on June 7, here is a list of 10 fabulous recipes for delicious chocolate-ice-cream-inspired treats.

5. Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich

Peanut butter and chocolate are an arguably classic combination. This brilliant recipe combines the two in a delectable, easy-to-make ice cream sandwich. Half an hour’s work, and you’ll have delicious homemade chocolate ice cream nestled between two large peanut butter cookies. This particular recipe makes eight sandwiches, just enough for you and a few family members or close friends!

4. Frozen Hot Chocolate Cheesecake

I am a huge fan of both hot chocolate and cheesecake, so when I came across this recipe, I knew I had to share it. Taking the form of a frozen pie, this cheesecake could not be easier to prepare. The crust is extremely simple using only three ingredients: Oreos, sugar and butter. Mix these together to create a thick chocolate dough that will bake into a beautifully firm crust. The filling is just as easy, combining cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, hot chocolate with mini marshmallows, Cool Whip© and marshmallow fluff. The outcome? A magical chocolatey delight and a must-try for any chocolate lover.

3. Double Chocolate Fudge Cookie Dough Shake

Chocolate chip cookie dough is my ultimate guilty pleasure, and this recipe combines homemade cookie dough balls with rich chocolate fudge and chocolate ice cream. Inspired by the Dairy Queen Blizzard of the same name, this tasty creation is sure to be a crowd-pleaser at any holiday party or family get-together.

2. Hot Chocolate Float with Mint Chip Ice Cream

Back at it again with the hot chocolate! Now, mint and chocolate are a combination that I am rather particular about. I'm not a huge fan of mint chocolate chip ice cream, although Thin Mints and York Peppermint Patties are heavenly gifts. Yet when I saw this recipe, I thought it would be a pretty neat concoction, not to mention unique and so simple! All you have to do is make a cup of your favorite hot chocolate, whether it's a pre-packaged mix or your own homemade recipe, and then add a healthy scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Then you can curl up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket, a good Netflix movie and your delicious hot chocolate float!

1. Death By Chocolate Ice Cream Cake

Chocolate never looked so divine. This ice cream cake is composed of layers of chocolate ice cream, chocolate chip brownies and Oreos mixed with chocolate shell, all drizzled with a chocolate fudge sauce. How's that for a sugar overload? After discovering this recipe, I will definitely be trying it.

Now that you're thoroughly prepared to enjoy National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, make sure you sample (at least) one of these recipes, or if you're feeling crafty, try creating something chocolatey of your own. And in the spirit of the holiday, please don't forget to share these delicious ideas with your friends!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
