Dear WriMo's,
This is for all of you! Whether your old or new to this, a winner or someone who only gets *this close* but won't give up, you rock, and we're in this together.
But let's pause for a shout out to my neighbors in Buffalo....
If you're a member of the NaNoWriMo Buffalo Region, then you probably already know that this year we are lacking a Municipal Liaison (ML). What does that mean? Well, it means that there will be no NaNo sanctioned events, such as readings and group writing sessions, happening in Buffalo this November. That really sucks.
However, let's not despair; this is not a surrender, but a call to arms. Although it is really disappointing that our community of 2830 members has no leader, that doesn't mean we can't all reach our goals and continue to build our community. Personally, I know that NaNoWriMo can be really hard without other WriMos to support you, but that's exactly why it's more important than ever to get on the forums. There are dedicated participants all over this city, and surely even more writers who have the potential to join our ranks. We can't let one disorganized year dissuade anyone from exploring their creativity-- and act which has been proven to help improve mental heaths, as well as provide a number of other benefits.
For any other WriMo's who may have stumbled upon this, I hope you have and ML, and if not, please take this message to heart. If you do have an ML, however, and you know another WriMo in another area who does not, then please do your best to keep them included. Then make "Writing Buddies", donate, get involved, make a cover design for your book (because apparently it has been proven that that helps with motivation), and most of all, WRITE. Be a part of something bigger, and have fun.
Let's make this the best year yet,
A Fellow Wrimo
