Everything is going well as young artists from a local university have put together a combined art show. Three dollars -- that was all you needed to walk out of the gallery with one of these new genius’s pieces of work. It started with months of hard work finding time to create the art that was now hanging on the walls and even much more time trying to get the word out so people would show up to the show. As a student it made it quite difficult to pull off and yet as people came in not knowing what to expect left with stacks of art they had purchased and the young artists looking proudly and in awe as their art work was being bought up. For one young artist, this night might be in the top ten remembered, for among the crowds of people going in and out was someone she would soon come to meet.
“Hey come over here” called one of her friends enthusiastically. “There is someone that wants to meet you”.
Shy as expected from this young artist hesitantly approaches this tall elegant woman. Who obviously stood out among what you least expect from a student held art show, not saying that only certain people come to a student art show. However, it would be as noticeable as someone wearing a heavy winter coat on the beach, in the middle of the summer.
“You have been called by name,” her friend encouraged as they were introduced formally now and words began to be exchanged. Her friend excused himself and waited while what was a nervous exchange of words turned into a conversation filled with joy and laughter.
After a while as things began to settle down some and there was a break between the crowds the young artist returns to her friends. Excited for her they begin to inquire what had just taken place.
“You have been gone for some time” piped up one friend?
“What was that all about” Asked another?
“Wow guys you won’t believe who it was” she exclaims as a cheeky grin turns into a full ear to ear smile. “I think I might have found my soulmate.” She is an artist from Atlanta who is interested in my art and wants me to visit her art studio and gallery there in Atlanta.
“Well that is great, did you get her card or any other information” asked a friend seriously?
The friend that introduced the two said that he had one just in case she didn’t but of course the young artist clutched tightly to a fancy business card.
“Woah, this is exciting we have to make plans to go and visit up there, maybe carpool and checked this place out” suggested a friend.
“Where did she go, she seemed to just vanish” inquired one of the friends.
As heads looked this way and that way looking for this lady, with style and grace the woman walks straight up to the young artist giving her a great big hug and placing a kiss on her forehead.
“Keep it real” the lady calls back leaving the young artist stunned with a great big smile on her face and all her friends in dumb struck.
