Hey Little One,
It's strange to think that if I never joined the sorority, our paths may have never crossed during my time at college. We would have walked around and never have found our other half. I went into informal recruitment saying the words, "If I find someone I love, I'll take her, but if not, then I'm just not going to take a little this semester." You legitimately avoided me all through recruitment, and I was about to give up hope when my big, who just knows me too well, made me go on a sister date with you. Now here we are, the night before your initiation watching "Inside Out" and killing the game as big and little. Here are some things that I want you to know:
You make me smile everyday.
You always know how to make my day better when the world seems to be crashing down. Even if it is just a Snapchat making a weird face or coming with me to my internship because I didn't want to take the Metro into Baltimore alone, you are always there to make a crappy day better. I know that I'm supposed to be the one that is there for you, but the days that you are there for me mean a lot, too.
You are so strong and full of potential.
As I started to get to know you, I saw the greatness in you. When you sparkle, you shine, and I want the world to see how great and talented you are. I want to help you get opportunities, so that others can see it too. Our family sees it and are your biggest supporters, so do not ever forget that. When you get to be a big star one day, your Grand-big and I will be right there in the crowd balling our eyes out and probably yelling something obnoxious because that's what we do.
I will always be there for you.
I know life gets hard sometimes, and some days are harder than others; just know that I am always here for you. If you just need to get out of your room for a while, if you need someone to rant to or if you need someone to help you forget about something, I will always be here. I'm your mom when your mom is miles away, and you can always talk to me, even at 2 a.m.
Thank you for coming into my life and becoming my best friend. I could never ask for a better partner in crime.
