I cannot believe that 2015 is coming to an end! It’s the same every year; it goes by unbelievably fast. This is the time of year when people make New Year’s resolutions. However, I am not a big believer in creating a New Year's resolution. I don’t really think it works out for a lot of people. Why? Because a lot of people set unrealistic goals and set themselves up for failure.
I think it is good to set goals for yourself everyday, rather than every year. So I basically create one resolution and add to it whenever I want to accomplish something else. Instead of saying, "oh I’ll get to that next year," I want to say, "I’ll start right now, right here because who knows where I’ll be next year."
So here is my updated list of things I would like to accomplish:
- Write a story that people fall in love with.
- Travel somewhere I have never been.
- Worry less about what other people think.
- Love unconditionally.
- Hike to the top of a mountain.
- Meet new and interesting people.
- Live in my own apartment.
- Help people in need.
- Take more pictures.
- Spend less time with Netflix.
- Do one thing a day that makes me smile.
- Don’t be afraid to be weird or silly because it seriously does NOT matter.
- Strengthen relationships with family members, blood is thicker than water.
- Put my phone down when I am with people.
- Go out of my way for people.
- Do what I love everyday.
- Overuse “I love you."
- Explore where I live.
- Stop putting myself in a bubble.
- Create time for myself.
- Do things out of my comfort zone.
I could put many more things on this list, but I want to start with something achievable. I have found that if you start with something small and dedicate yourself to doing at least one of these things a week, then you can actually accomplish your goals.
