For this week’s post I am continuing My Tribute to Soap Operas in Part 4 of The Perfect Day (Revelation). I hope you enjoy it. But first here is the Recap.
When you last saw Kolby she was back in the hospital recovering from a fall which caused her to hit her head and cause some bleeding. After running some tests the doctor on staff told both Carl and Kolby’s father Mr. Klein that she was pregnant. Prior to that Mr. Klein was quarreling with Carl and blaming him for all that his daughter had suffered. Doctor Franklin advised both men to stop arguing and to compose themselves. Carl agreed and walked off to go and see Kolby. She was sleeping and Carl lay by her side to her delight. Now we continue on the story.
It has now been a week and Kolby is slowly recovering from her head injury. Meanwhile Carl has been visiting and making sure she is doing well. In Kolby’s eyes Carl is coming around and it will not be long before all is right with them again.
Oh, everything is turning out just like I planned.
As Kolby said this within herself she could not stop smiling.
At the same time, she began envisioning her big wedding and the perfect day which should have already happened.
I will get everything back.
I just know it.
Kolby had always gotten everything she wanted. Since her parents had always been too busy to give her any real attention as a child.
This all made Kolby feel isolated and she relied on material things to make her feel better. However, after she met Carl things were different. He would always be so loving and kind and wanted to spend his whole life pleasing her.
For awhile Kolby felt happy and her only dream was to become his wife. Things changed after Carl got busier at work. He was always out of town and barely had time for her.
Kolby was lonely and she became unsure of Carl’s love for her.
Then James came along. He was a charmer and had always wanted to outshine his brother Carl.
Damn I need to stop thinking about James!
He is the cause of all my pain.
James needs to pay for what he has done!
After drying up her tears Kolby decided it was time to plan her revenge against him.
Believe me James you are going to wish you had never crossed me!
Back in town Carl was in his office getting ready to head out the door to see Kolby.
He was just about to get on the elevator when he heard someone calling him.
“Carl, Carl!”
As he turned over to look at the familiar voice calling him. He couldn’t believe his eyes.
“Rachel, Wow, how are you?”
“I am doing good, my friend,” she said.
“Damn, this is a surprise,” he said.
After hugging for a few minutes. Carl could not help but gaze into her eyes.
“Wow, Rachel you are looking lovely,”
“Thank you my friend and so are you.”
“So what brings you to our great city?”
“I have a meeting here all of this week,” she said.
Carl smiled at Rachel. It was obvious there was a certain chemistry the two had.
“Look, I heard about what happened with Kolby,” she said.
Just then Carl got a bit defensive.
“ No, things are okay now. We are working it out.”
All of a sudden Rachel’s face got pale.
“Oh so you’re working it out.”
“Yeah, I am actually headed out to see her at the hospital.”
Rachel tried to stay calm.
“Okay, well I guess I will catch you another time,” she said in a softer tone.
Carl noticed Rachel’s demeanor. Her voice was soft and her smile was gone.
“Hey Rachel, You look a bit down, Are you okay?”
“Yes, I am just a bit jet lagged.”
“Okay, well get some rest now okay.”
“I will,” she said.
Then she walked off.
After she was gone. Carl began to feel guilty.
Man Carl you are one big loser!
How could you act like that towards Rachel?
I mean you know you have feelings for her.
Why are you hurting her?
Damn Damn Damn!
Then he stormed off.
I have to get back to Kolby.
At the hospital Kolby was resting in her room when James arrived.
Kolby was not happy to see him.
“ What are you doing here? She asked.
He could see she was upset by the look in her eyes.
“Come on Kolby, you know that is not any way to treat your lover,” he said.
“Please, I made a mistake with you!”
“Well, that is not what you said before!”
“James, you need to go!”
“Why?”
“Because Carl and I are working it out!”
James began to laugh.
“Why the hell are you laughing?”
“You really think you can go back and start things over with Carl?”
“Yes, I do. He loves me and we are going to work this out now!”
“Man, I always thought you were a drama queen Kolby but delusional too!”
“Shut up, James! Please get out!”
“Look, Kolby, you can kid yourself on working it out with Carl!”
“Why is that?” she asked.
“Carl has a secret.”
“What do you mean James?”
“It means that Carl eyes were not always set on you!”
“What are you talking about?”
“All I can tell you is her name is Rachel!”
“What? Who is Rachel!”
“Look Kolby, just ask Carl.” Then he leaned over and gave her a kiss on the forehead and walked out.
Kolby was angry. She did not understand what James meant.
Who the hell is Rachel!
After about an hour Carl came in to her room.
“Kolby, are you sleeping?” he asked.
Kolby turned over. She was crying.
“Who the hell is Rachel?” Kolby demanded.
Carl was taken by surprise and knew he had to reveal the truth.
