Throughout my life, I have constantly had people tell me that I am different than the other people in their lives; whether it's because of the way I treat others or just my smile--people notice the joy that comes through me. I'm here today to explain that it isn't me that you're seeing, it's Jesus, and I want you to know that you can be this way too. Some of you reading this are probably sick of people saying things are all because of Jesus. On the other hand, some of you may know and understand what I'm talking about. Despite the spot you're at, hear me out.
When a believer puts all of their trust and love in Jesus, it gives them the light of the Father. Surrendering yourself and your sins to God brings a new you to the table. It gives you the opportunity to show the love and freedom of God to those around you. I like to refer to it as the 'Light of God.' It is something that can be easily spotted and contagious.
The happiness you see on my face and the kindness in my heart isn't just me wanting to be different. It isn't about me wanting praise for my goodness. I don't want people to look at me as any better because of how I act; however, I do want people to notice the difference that God makes. My heart and life were made new when I found God. I stopped giving into the weight of the world and instead started to focus on spreading God's love.
This isn't anything that I do by myself. Without God, I would not be the person you all see me as. I wouldn't have an open heart. I wouldn't have the amount of love that I have. I wouldn't have the desire to live such a clean and pure life. Jesus makes me who I am and I'm proud to state that. I am proud of the person that I have become through God. The path that he has me on is bigger than I could ever try to imagine. He is so good with everything He does.
My heart shines with his radiant love. There's nothing that I can do to even try and hide it. I want others to have the joy and happiness that I have. I want others to have a heart focused on God. In a way, it hurts that people tell me I'm unique. It truly shows that the world around us is broken and is in need of knowing our good father. God is with us every minute of every day. He loves us unconditionally and wants us to feel the same back. If we are constantly obedient to God and his plan then the love will radiate through you as well.
All in all, focus on Jesus and the love he has for you and you can be the "difference" you see in me. Jesus loves YOU. He knows your name and your story. He sees the future that you have set before you. Be obedient in him and see the difference in yourself.
