My Predictions For The 58th Annual Grammy Awards
Gossip Con

I like to think of the Grammys as my Super Bowl. It has more than two teams, but I have my favorites who I am rooting for to win and the best part is the performances. Because there are 83 awards, I picked some of my favorite awards to predict the winners of those. Here are my predictions for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards!

Record of the Year

Nominees:

"Really Love" by D'Angelo And The Vanguard.

"Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson Featuring Bruno Mars.

"Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran.

"Blank Space" by Taylor Swift.

"Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd.

My prediction: The Swifty inside of me immediately goes to "Blank Space." All of the nominees are worthy of the award, but "Blank Space" is smart record that I think deserves the award the most.

Album of the Year

Nominees:

"Sound & Color" by Alabama Shakes.

"To Pimp A Butterfly" by Kendrick Lamar.

"Traveller" by Chris Stapleton.

"1989" by Taylor Swift.

"Beauty Behind The Madness" by The Weeknd.

My prediction: I'm sure it won't come as a surprise to anyone that my pick for Album of the Year is "1989" by Taylor Swift. This album is incredible from start to finish and I believe that it deserves to win album of the year. Also, I would love to see this reaction again.

Song of the Year

Nominees:

"Alright" by Kendrick Lamar.

"Blank Space" by Taylor Swift.

"Girl Crush" by Little Big Town.

"See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa Featuring Charlie Puth.

"Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran.

My prediction: If my previous two predictions come true, then I would not be surprised if Taylor Swift wins this award as well, but if that is not the case I hope Ed Sheeran wins this one. His lyrics are fantastic and "Thinking Out Loud" was definitely one of the highlights of the past year, as far as music goes. I don't think Taylor would mind losing this award to Ed, considering they are BFFs.

Best New Artist

Nominees:

Courtney Barnett

James Bay

Sam Hunt

Tori Kelly

Meghan Trainor

My prediction: I think that Tori Kelly deserves to win Best New Artist because she has the level of talent to support such a title. Her music is great and I hope she takes home this award.

Best Pop Solo Performance

"Heartbeat Song" by Kelly Clarkson.

"Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding.

"Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran.

"Blank Space" by Taylor Swift.

"Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd.

My prediction: My pick is "Blank Space" because out of all of these songs it is the one that I still listen to on a regular basis and not just because I love Taylor Swift but because it is that great of a song. Even my friends who don't like Taylor Swift know all the lyrics and sing along to Blank Space.

Best Pop Duo/Group Performance

Nominees:

"Ship To Wreck" by Florence & The Machine.

"Sugar" by Maroon 5.

"Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson Featuring Bruno Mars.

"Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift Featuring Kendrick Lamar.

"See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa Featuring Charlie Puth.

My prediction: Although I would love to see Bad Blood win this award I have to say either Uptown Funk or See You Again will take this one. Uptown Funk is still all over the music charts and See You Again is a meaningful song that's memory will last for years to come.

Best Pop Vocal Album

Nominees:

"Piece By Piece" by Kelly Clarkson.

"How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" by Florence & The Machine.

"Uptown Special" by Mark Ronson.

"1989" by Taylor Swift.

"Before This World" by James Taylor.

My prediction: Yes, my pick for this award is "1989" because I love this album and I think Taylor deserves all of the awards.

Best Dance Recording

Nominees:

"We're All We Need By Above & Beyond" Featuring Zoë Johnston.

"Go" by The Chemical Brothers Featuring Q-Tip.

"Never Catch Me" by Flying Lotus Featuring Kendrick Lamar.

"Runaway (U & I)" by Galantis.

"Where Are Ü Now" by Skrillex And Diplo With Justin Bieber.

My prediction: I think that "Where Are Ü Now" will take this one because it makes everyone want to dance, and is a hit.

Best Rock Performance

Nominees:

Don't Wanna Fight by Alabama Shakes.

What Kind Of Man by Florence & The Machine.

Something From Nothing by Foo Fighters.

Ex's & Oh's by Elle King.

Moaning Lisa Smile by Wolf Alice.

My prediction: I think Elle King is amazing and has a phenomenal voice and Ex's & Oh's should win this award.

Best Rock Song

Nominees:

"Don't Wanna Fight" by Alabama Shakes.

"Ex's & Oh's" by Elle King.

"Hold Back The River" by James Bay.

"Lydia" by Highly Suspect.

"What Kind Of Man" by Florence & The Machine.

My prediction: Once again I think that Elle King should take this one but my second choice is Alabama Shakes.

Best Rap Song

Nominees:

"All Day" by Kanye West Featuring Theophilus London, Allan Kingdom & Paul McCartney.

"Alright" by Kendrick Lamar.

"Energy" by Drake.

"Glory" by Common and John Legend.

"Trap Queen" by Fetty Wap.

My prediction: "Glory" should definitely win this award because, to me, it stands out among the rest and is deserving of the Grammy.

Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media

Nominees:

"Empire": Season 1 by Various Artists.

"Fifty Shades Of Grey" by Various Artists.

"Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me" by Various Artists.

"Pitch Perfect 2" by Various Artists.

"Selma" by Various Artists.

My prediction: Although I have never seen "Fifty Shades Of Grey," and probably never will, the soundtrack is great.

Best Musical Theater Album

Nominees:

"An American In Paris" by George Gershwin, composer; Ira Gershwin, lyricist (Original Broadway Cast).

"Fun Home" by Jeanine Tesori, composer; Lisa Kron, lyricist (Original Broadway Cast).

" Hamilton" by Lin-Manuel Miranda, composer & lyricist (Original Broadway Cast).

"The King And I" by Richard Rodgers, composer; Oscar Hammerstein II, lyricist (2015 Broadway Cast).

"Something Rotten!" Karey Kirkpatrick & Wayne Kirkpatrick, composers/lyricists (Original Broadway Cast).

My prediction: "Hamilton." Enough said. If you have listened to the album you know why I chose it and if you haven't you are missing out.

There you have it! Some of my predictions for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards airing next Monday, Feb. 15 on CBS.

I am excited to see who wins!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
