How your college friends will change your life.

College is an unreal thing. You get to take classes that'll help you be that nurse you've always wanted to be, or push you along to help you write your first book as an author, or help you along the path of one day becoming a successful business owner. But what's even more cool is the fact that you get to meet some of the best people- some of the people that'll be in you're wedding, and one day, your kids will call them aunt and uncle because they grew up with these people you met so long ago in college.

College is so much better than high school. You can actually have the opportunity to meet people that are just like you, where you actually fit in and where you can actually be yourself. You don't need a huge group of friends, or a lot of them, you just need your select few that are just like you, who you can truly be yourself around!

I was lucky enough to have my roommate become my best friend, who I can truly be myself around. I was also very lucky to have my neighbor in my dorm be my home away from home. I wouldn't survive college without these two girls; they're my people. They're the first people I go to when I need advice, help with laundry, or if I just want to talk to someone. They never fail to make me laugh and I could tell from the beginning, that these two girls will be by my side through my whole entire life. They're not going anywhere, ever. We argue and we fight like family but that's what makes these friendships that much more meaningful. We know everything there is to know about each other, what we struggle with, and we just know when one of us is having a bad day just by the looks on our faces. They barge right into my room no matter what time of day it is and never once have I been upset about it. It could be 4:00 a.m. on a Sunday night and one of them could come in and I'd stay up all night with them, talking about everything and anything. They're my number one support system at college and I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you're reading this and you're not in college yet, don't you guys worry; you'll meet these people too, you’ll know right away who your people are and aren't. Its very obvious where you fit in and where you don't. If you're reading this and you're in college or graduated from college, you know exactly what I'm talking about, because I know for a fact everyone has that one person from college that'll never leave their side.

I'm so incredibly lucky to have my two people in college live next to me and live with me. It makes everything so much easier, especially when it comes to those days when I'm having a rough day, missing home, or when boys suck- which is usually every day. But they're my go-to girls that I know I can walk in their rooms with absolutely no reason and we'll have the greatest time of our lives.

I've known my neighbor for a little over a month now, the day she barged into my room to ask me if I had any kind of chocolate was the day I knew we were going to be very close. She’s my go-to when I need a good laugh, or when I need someone who'll drive around with me for hours just singing and getting lost around town. She is my best friend at college, Lindsey. I love you.

My roommate though, wow. She's easily the best person I've met at college. She’s basically my other half, she's my go-to person for absolutely anything. She's basically my mom at college and I wouldn't want it any other way. She is my best friend at college, Katelynn. I love you.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
