I've always loved the supernatural. I've always had an overactive imagination and just simply accepted the fact that there are things in this world we can't see or don't want to accept that actually exist. I suppose that's why I've always loved shows that had some paranormal aspect. I grew up on these shows and just continued loving them as I got older. These are thirteen shows that have something to do with the paranormal and supernatural that I absolutely loved.

13. The Secret Circle

This show wasn't too bad for a book-to-screen adaptation. The book is by LJ Smith, the author of "The Vampire Diaries," and follows the story of Cassie Blake, a girl who moves in with her grandmother after her mother dies in a house fire then discovers that she's a witch. The television show wasn't much different, but, sadly, did not take with viewers and was cancelled after only one season.

12. Sleepy Hollow

I love "Sleepy Hollow." I always loved the story of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman and have watched various adaptations of the story throughout the years, including Tim Burton's successful movie version starring Johnny Depp as Ichabod Crane. The television show follows a storyline where Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) is resurrected and pulled through time to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers. It's full of suspense and mystery as you're constantly left guessing what happens next.

11. Moonlight

"Moonlight" lasted one season, but, in my opinion, should have had a lot more. The series follows a private detective Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin) as he attempts to do good by helping get criminals off the street and protecting the Los Angeles populace. The catch: he's a vampire. St. John ends up falling in love with a human named Beth (Sophia Myles). The show was truncated by the Writers Guild Strike in 2008 after only 16 episodes.

10. Ghost Whisperer

"Ghost Whisperer" follows Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) as she helps ghosts with unfulfilled aspects of their former lives gain closure and move on through her ability to see and speak with the dead, a gift she inherited from her late grandmother. The show aired for five seasons.

9. The Originals

This series branches off of "The Vampire Diaries," taking place in New Orleans. It centers on the Mikaelson family of The Vampire Diaries and follows Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in his attempt to regain the hierarchy of New Orleans' supernatural underworld. The series had me skeptical at first about its possibility of being a good series, but when I started watching it during the first season, I was completely hooked just like I was with "The Vampire Diaries." The story's plotline has developed so much since the first season and now the series has been granted a fourth season on the CW.

8. Sabrina The Teenage Witch

Of course Sabrina is on here. "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" is one of those shows from when I was a kid that sparked my interest in the supernatural. I always wanted to be told at sixteen that I was a witch and had special powers (which probably was a reason that kids thought I was weird). Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) finds out from her aunts on her sixteenth birthday that she's a witch and she ends up getting into trouble a lot while figuring out how her powers work. The show lasted seven seasons, following Sabrina all the way to college and concluding with her riding off on a motorcycle with Harvey, after breaking off her wedding with Josh.

7. Ghost Adventures

If you've only considered ghosts and other such beings as only existing in films and TV shows then you need to watch "Ghost Adventures." I wouldn't recommend any other paranormal investigation show so highly, but "Ghost Adventures" is one that I absolutely know is the real deal. Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin and Nick Groff started investigating haunted places around the world together as part of Zak and Nick's college documentary project, and what they found caused them to gain a highly successful television show out of it. Their footage is checked to make sure it's not tampered with, and they automatically debunk sights and sounds that can easily be explained away; such as bugs in front of the camera or if one of them makes a noise that sounds like it could be caused by something paranormal, such as a chair being moved or them bumping into something. The show aired in 2008. Now, Nick is doing his own show, but Zak and Aaron are still investigating as part of the "Ghost Adventures" crew. The show goes into its thirteenth season in 2017.

6. Angel

Seriously, this is one of my favorite roles that David Boreanaz has ever had. "Angel" first aired in 1999 as a spinoff series from "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," and became almost as successful as "Buffy." The series follows the title character in Los Angeles as he starts a private investigation agency with a few other characters, fellow "Buffy" character Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter) and Allen Doyle (Glenn Quinn), and helps the LA populace. The show lasted for 5 seasons, adding other Buffy favorites as the series progressed, including Spike (James Marsters), Wesley (Alexis Denisof), Faith (Eliza Dushku) and even Buffy herself for an episode. I really miss seeing this show on my television screen.

5. Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Naturally, my love of vampires was sparked by this show. Not to mention it has a badass female lead. "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" follows Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) as she tries to balance being a Slayer and an ordinary high school student. Fresh from Los Angeles, she is enrolled at Sunnydale High and she finds herself becoming friends with Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan) and Xander Harris (Nicholas Brendon), two of the school's outcasts. Together, they form a slaying team, dubbed The Scooby Gang and end up fighting tons of evil in Sunnydale, the Hellmouth. The show first aired in 1997 and lasted for 7 seasons, concluding with the entirety of Sunnydale collapsing into the Hellmouth.

4. The Vampire Diaries

My favorite vampire series, "The Vampire Diaries," follows Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) in their epic love triangle and through various obstacles that get in the way. The Salvatore brothers are easily my favorite vampire duo, aside from Angel and Spike, that have come out of a television series. Now ending their seventh season and renewed it for an eighth, "The Vampire Diaries" has become one of television's most popular supernatural series.

3. Teen Wolf

Not to be confused with the movie of the same name, "Teen Wolf" follows high school lacrosse player, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) as he adjusts to being a werewolf. The series explores many different lore from across the world, the most recent additions being Japanese lore of Oni and Kitsune, as well as The Beast, the legendary werewolf of eighteenth-century France and Hell Hounds. Season 6 premieres on June 28, 2016.

2. Charmed

The Halliwell sisters are my favorite witches of all time when it comes to television shows. Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) discover that they are witches, the destined witches called "The Charmed Ones" and together have to fight evils like demons, warlocks, and even The Source. Prue dies at the end of season 3, killed by The Source and their half-sister Paige Matthews (Rose McGowan) enters in the first episode of season 4 after Prue's funeral. Paige finds out that she has powers as well, recreating the power of three, and joins her remaining half-sisters in their battle. The show lasted for 8 seasons, ending with an elderly version of Piper telling the story of The Charmed Ones to her granddaughters, one of whom has Prue's powers. The episode ends with a tribute to Prue: the granddaughter with the ability of telekinesis closes the door to the Halliwell Mansion the exact same way that Prue closes the door in episode one, bringing the show full circle.

1. Supernatural

My all-time favorite show is "Supernatural." I remember watching the pilot episode with my mom all the way back in 2005 for the very first time. While I haven't been able to watch every single episode, I manage to catch up on TNT in the mornings when I get the chance. I've been following Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) since day one. The show follows the two brothers in their quest to find their father, who has been searching for the thing that killed their mother 22 years prior to Sam and Dean beginning their hunt. Now, almost 12 seasons later, the Winchesters have faced apocalypse after apocalypse, demons, angels and other crazy things (the most fearsome, I believe, being the Leviathans) and have died and come back many times along the way. If there's one thing every Supernatural fan knows, it's that nobody ever stays dead on "Supernatural"...and we still don't know what happened to Adam after Sam got out of The Cage in season 6.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
