Bullying should not help Trump to the Oval Office.

My Issue With Trump
Rush Hour Daily

Let me start off this article by saying I don’t hate Trump. I don’t like him, but I think anyone that is a presidential nominee deserves respect. My issue with Trump is that he doesn’t give that respect back. A nominee that uses foul language in speeches and derogatory terms towards different minorities is not who I want sitting in the oval office representing America. The man or woman that makes the decisions for the future of our country should not call woman disgusting or condone violence at rallies.

I understand why some find Trump appealing. Trump doesn’t consider himself a politician and America seems to love that. He is unlike any candidate we’ve ever had and that is somewhat refreshing, but the President must be held to a higher standard. If Trump made crude jokes about Rubio in debates, how can we expect him to work well with world leaders that disagree on every issue under the sun? When Carly Fiorina was running for president, Trump said, “Look at that face. Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?” or when Trump wrote in a tweet, “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America?” Trump tends to bully others to get what he wants, and that will not fly if he is elected president.

If Trump gets elected as president, that means he is representing ALL Americans. He’s representing immigrants, women, the LGBT community, etc. I honestly don’t think he has the maturity to do that. Trump seems like when he doesn’t have an answer to a question in a debate or in an interview, he shrugs it off by making a rude face or comment. Ronald Reagan or JFK would never stand up in front of the country and say any of the things that Trump says. You can say that the times are changing and that’s why Trump is gaining traction by making these comments, but there should still be more composure held by a presidential candidate.

If you are a Trump supporter, I am not trying to sway your opinions in any way. I am just stating my reservations about Trump and how he could potentially lead our great country.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
