Me, Myself, And My Introvert Life

In This Article:

Who says that being an introvert is a lonely way of life? I have met the most interesting people in my life who happen to be introverts. It took a while to meet them because of social anxiety, BUT that's beside the point. For my fellow introverts out there this is for you because we all need a little love sometimes. So, text your fellow introvert (because we avoid phone calls like the plague) and show them this article.

Not all introverts are shy or the typical "loner".

There are many types of introverts and not all are quiet or shy. Introverts are people who just don't express their emotions and tend to have internal thoughts.

Just because we are quiet doesn't mean we are being rude.

Many introverts prefer the peace and quiet, and there is no better place for that than your own head. Introverts are known to consider their minds to be their best friends... or worst enemies. Debatable.

We like being alone.

Now, I don't always mean being alone. There are times where I am surrounded by people but I am still alone. I like being alone with my thoughts to process ideas or personal opinions. Then, of course, you can't beat that lone walk through the woods or reading. Solo activities are the best and it doesn't mean I feel lonely.

Headphones are your saviors.

Headphones are saviors for two reasons. One, for those who don't wish to have a conversation, it's a great warning that I don't desire to be talked to. Two, it allows us to be in our own world. I like to think of it of us being in our own movie. The only time I would like to be the star. 🤩

Extroverts and introverts can be best friends.

Think of it as yin and yang, you bounce off of each other. You can annoy each other at some point, yet there are moments where you need each other. Sometimes the extrovert needs to slow down and think things through, while the introvert needs a little push to show their emotions.

Introvert or not...

We should all appreciate our personalities because like a snowflake, people are unique in their own way. Us introverts may have similar characteristics and may act in a similar manner. However, we all are just a snowflake surrounded by a zillion of other snowflakes. Some introverts become powerful speakers or even presidents. ( Shout out to my main man Abraham Lincoln). Others would rather keep their personal thoughts for a rainy day. So, introverts you keep being you. No matter how loud the world is around you, your mind is your universe.

These are just a few things about an introverts life that us introverts can relate. Heck, even some extroverts can relate to too. Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to go slip into my cow onesie and huddle up into my reading nook with my headphones in.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
