My Guilty Pleasure Is 'The Bachelorette' And I'm Not Ashamed

Yeah, seriously. I watch that crap.

Every Monday night I look forward to sitting my butt down with a pint of Halo Top and watching "The Bachelorette." A group of my best friends and I have a group chat and we blow it up for the two hours the show is on. If one of us can't watch it on Monday night we all wait to watch it at the same time on Tuesday.

Nine times out of 10 when I tell somebody that I watch the Bachelor or Bachelorette they're like, "Seriously? You watch that crap?"

Yeah, seriously. I watch that crap.

Trust me, I know it's cheesy and stupid. People that know me personally know that I HATE anything cheesy. I can't stand prom-posals or overly cheesy couple pictures, so it can be surprising that I spend two hours every week watching America's #1 dating show.

I think I DO watch it because it is so cheesy. It's partially because I like to laugh at the obnoxious contestants, cringe at some of the weirdest kisses I've ever witnessed, root on my favorite contestant, oooh and ahh over the pretty dresses, get some second-hand embarrassment from the dates, and just overall laugh at the idea of someone getting married after two to three months of "dating." I watch it purely for entertainment, not because I think the "Bachelor formula" for love is correct.

I know that the likelihood of whoever crosses the Bachelor or Bachelorette finish line together will get married and stay married is slim. So, it's not like I'm super invested in these couples. I just like watching a silly show with my friends...plus it gives us a lot to talk about sometime.

So, I apologize in advance for my tweets every Monday that refer to "The Bachelor" or "Bachelorette." If they bother you, please just scroll pass them. However, I won't be apologizing for loving one of the world's cheesiest shows.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
