This week is my last week as a Florida State University student and wow - can I say four years goes by quickly. It feels like just yesterday my Mom and Dad were dropping me off to live in my dorm. I remember feeling so excited but also scared at the same time. Flash forward to now and I can't believe it's already ending.

Attending school at Florida State has been an absolute dream. Ever since I was little I knew it was the place for me and looking back I was so right! Over the course of my four years, I have made so many memories that I will cherish forever. It was hard to narrow it down, however, in no particular order, here are my 8 favorite memories while at FSU.

1. My first semester at FSU, Summer C 2016.

When I came to college I was a baby, blind to what college was really like. This semester was not only eye-opening culturally to me, but, I learned a lot about myself as well. At the time, my twin sister was not an FSU student, so it forced me to get out of my comfort zone and do things on my own. I actually hated it so much, I almost transferred home. It is so memorable to me now, because I am so glad I stayed.

2. Placing Top 3 at Nationals in 2019.

I had the honor of cheering for our university for three years! This opportunity allowed me so many unforgettable memories, that I will forever be grateful for. Not only do we cheer at games, but we also compete. Nationals is my favorite weekend each year, however, 2019's Nationals was definitely my favorite, Unknown to many, in 2019 the All-Girl cheerleading team brought home a bronze medal. We were beyond excited to see all our hard work pay off. I will never forget that amazing season with my team.

3. Traveling to the FSU vs UVA football game.

This year's first road game was on September 14 at UVA. I, fortunately, had the opportunity to travel and cheer the game. I remember the date so well because we traveled to Charlottesville on everyone's favorite Friday: Friday the 13th and boy did it live up to its name. For the interest in time, after flights getting canceled, getting turned around mid-air, and having to rent vans and drive to Charlottesville with our luggage stuck at another airport, it was a bit stressful. We met at the Airport at 9 am in Tallahassee, however, we didn't get to our hotel until 2 am. We had no bags and were exhausted. Thankfully our bags (with our uniforms) arrived the next morning and we had a lot of fun cheering the game! It was such a crazy trip and one of my favorite memories.

4. Riding out Hurricane Hermine in my dorm.

Labor day weekend my freshman year, Hurricane Hermine came through Tallahassee. Due to not having a car and classes not being canceled yet, I decided to ride that sucker out in my dorm. My roommate left, so it was just me in our little shoebox. I remember the power going out and genuinely being terrified to go to sleep. The next day, my friends and I played board games for hours because the power was out. It was a very strange experience.

5. Surprising my family with a trip to Disney.

The same weekend that Hermine hit Tallahassee, my sister and I planned a surprise Disney trip for my parents. Unfortunately, we were awful at hiding things and my parents found out about Disney, however, they didn't know I was coming. Saturday following the hurricane, my sister told my parents she had a workshop for school before work. However, she was actually coming to get me. We made it back in time for her to work and for her to drop me off at the movie theater. I spent 7 hours at the theater waiting for her to get me. That night I slept in my own bed and my parents had no clue. We both woke them up at 6 am to go to the parks and they were so surprised to see me! It was truly one of the best days ever.

6. Cheering my last FSU football game.

Spending the last three years on the sidelines was an absolute dream come true. I personally am a very emotional person, so it was very bittersweet for me. The feeling of chopping and looking into the crowd and seeing thousands of people chopping along with you is a feeling that I will never forget. I get chills just thinking about it.

7. My sophomore year roommate setting her food on fire.

One day my sister and I were hanging out in my room, while our roommate was cooking. I then noticed an orange light under the door and decided to investigate. She had run to the bathroom and set some grease on fire. Thankfully she put it out and only the microwave was damaged but it was a pretty scary experience.

8. Going on "twinventures" with my sister.

My sister and I have never enjoyed the party culture that most college students enjoy. Accordingly, when we were not cheering, we were going on adventures. We would go to the beach, on different hikes and even visit some parks. Our most favorite 'twinvenure", as we call it, was when we took a trip to ATL and visited Stone Mountain. We love hiking, so getting away to go on a fun hike was such a great way to get away from the crazy college life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
