My Future Tattoos

My first and only tattoo was for my 16th birthday. I wanted a piercing, but my mom made the offered the tattoo. She wanted me to really think about what I wanted. My dad meant a lot to me, but sadly I don't see him so much. One good memory was him introducing me to the Beatles. He used to play his guitar and sing their songs to me. We used to watch the 'Yellow Submarine' animated movie all the time. The soundtrack has so many of my favorite songs that give me great memories. So, I decided to get the Yellow Submarine tattooed on my right shoulder blade. I absolutely loved it and didn't hurt to much. I was a bit sore after two hours, but I powered through! I knew I made the right decision because I absolutely loved how it turned out.

Nearly four years later, the tattoo is still very vibrant. It just needs a quick touchup for the yellow pigment. Now, my mom has offered to give a tattoo for my 20th birthday present. I've been thinking about getting a David Bowie tattoo because he is an inspiration of mine. I've been listening to him in the car with my mom since I was in the 6th grade. Bowie's unique look and sound got me interested in him. I learned more about his life, and kept listening to his amazing collection of music.

I would like to expand my tattoos on my right arm to be a sleeve of musicians that have inspired me throughout my life. While, I want my left arm to show films that have impacted me. I've been thinking about getting the Death's Head Moth from 'The Silence of the Lambs'. I really love the brilliant sound design, cinematography and story of the film. If you look closely on the movie poster, the moth has what appears to be a skull on the center of its chest. In reality, it is a Salvador Dali's surrealistic portrait called, "In Voluptas Mars". It shows that seven naked women are constructed into the shape of a skull. In English, the title translates to "Voluptuous Death". This wanted me to get it even more because Dali is one of my favorite artists.

Other artists that I'd like to have on my right arm include Queen and Pink Floyd. While on my left arm, I'd probably have movies such as Moonrise Kingdom, Dark Knight and Breaking Bad. I would like to include cartoons and television shows that played a part in my inspirations. I've been thinking about including ones like Futurama and Rick and Morty.

Not only do I love Batman and Joker, but I cosplay as Harley Quinn. I'd love to have black and red diamonds on my thigh. That would be so cool! I love video games as well, so if I could include games like Legend of Zelda, that would be marvelous! My ideas for tattoos are still expanding, but I'm trying to come up with ideas and designs for them. I drew my very first one, so ever since I love designing my own tattoos. Tattoos are a great way to express what you like and show who you are!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
