As many of you know, it has been proposed to put the face of a woman on the $10 bill. Many women have been brought up in various conversations on the topic, but one seems to stand out above the rest. This frontrunner just happens to be a woman whom I have looked up to for many years of my life.
"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Eleanor Roosevelt wrote this in her memoir, "This Is My Story" (1937); it was a quote from her head mistress at finishing school. You see, Eleanor was often picked on and made fun of as a child, which resulted in her being very shy, always afraid to speak her mind for fear of what people would think. When she went to finishing school, she began to break out of her shell and become more confident in herself.
Roosevelt's words have a way of speaking to me that is hard to explain. Reading her stories gave me something to dream about when I was young. Reading them again today, I realize they have helped to shape the way I see the world.
I believe that everyone can relate to the great Anna Eleanor Roosevelt in one way or another. Her quotes have become a source of comfort for so many people. Here is a compilation of some of her beautiful quotes for you to keep with you as you navigate this crazy journey we call life.
