Recently I stumbled across an old and neglected Fitbit flex and decided to give this thing a try. Now I'm not a huge fitness person, it takes a lot of moans and groans to get me to the gym, but I figured why not try it out. I figured that making the daily goal (10,000 steps) would be super easy, my iPhone tells me that I walk about 3 miles a day so a few more shouldn't be hard. Man was I wrong. I underestimated how active I was throughout the day and how long it would take me to get to 10,000. Additionally, as a girl that also doesn't like to wear jewelry I was worried that having something (even as simple as a flexible wristband) would get annoying. Boy was I wrong! My Fitbit has been one of the best things that has happened to me all summer. I have a hard time taking this thing off just to charge it.
Tracks more than just your steps.
Your Fitbit tracks way more than just your steps, I am able to see (an estimate) of how many calories I've burned, how many miles I've walked, how many active minutes (more than 15 minutes of moderate activity) I've had in a day, and my favorite how well I've slept. My Fitbit can tell me how many times and for how long I was restless during a night and tell me when and how long I was awake for. The battery also lasts for days and charges super quickly, which fits into most busy lives. I also love being able to track how my body is doing throughout the day, and having an app on my phone makes it even easier.
Fashionable and Comfortable.
Fitbit's are a sleek design that models something similar to a small watch or even a few elastic bands. It's super easy to wear and it's incredibly comfortable. Since they come in different coors, you can choose something that will blend in with your everyday attire or something that will stand out. As a girl that has a hard time wearing any sort of accessories other than earrings, I've had no problem with wearing my Fitbit ever day.
Rewarding.
There's something incredibly fulling about checking your progress throughout the day, especially when you meet your goal of 10,000 steps. The Fitbit is almost like a way to motivate the unmotivated, like myself. When I look at the clock and its 11pm and I still have 500 steps left, you know I'll be walking around my house until midnight just trying to make it to my goal. It really is a great way to help keep yourself on a healthy, daily schedule.
