So this week I started my junior year and it has been insanely tough. I never thought it would be this hard but it is all hitting me at once that next year is my last year and then I have to move away from all of my friends. But aside from that junior year has started and I just want to recap how it has been.
So on the first day of school, August 29, I went in with a positive attitude and I was so genuinely excited for my classes and to see all my friends. I was taking amazing classes with some amazing teachers and I already knew I had many friends in my classes.
I saw all my friends and started my day off with a bang. I began with my math class where I had a few friends and then moved on to history, which was somewhat boring. But the teacher was hysterically funny and he kept making jokes that were really corny but funny.
Then I went on to a very daunting class, English 11 AP. It was quite scary but I am very excited to learn in that class. I am very scared for this class and the work load because from what I have hear it is crazy hard and a lot of writing in involved. One of my best friends, who is a sophomore in college, told me that this class was so important and although it is a lot of work, it is an outstanding class. So I went for it.
After english I walked to my favorite class, Comparative Government and Politics. I plan on majoring in Political Science so this class was right up my alley. The teacher is by far the best teacher I have ever had and luckily I have a few friends in that class. Basically the class is all about comparing other countries political structures and finding the pros and cons of each which is very interesting to me. Sadly my ex best friend is in that class which is somewhat awkward but we have managed to not be so weird around each other and just accept the fact that we have to be in this class together for the rest of the year.
Then I had Journalism, which was amazing of course. The teachers is one of the funniest and nicest guys I have ever met and we get along great. I am currently editor-in-chief and so far I have really enjoyed it. I got my friend to take the class with me so I would not be very lonely. I am so excited to continue my role as editor-in-chief and see what happens this year.
Afterwards, I went to Spanish which was of course fun but I had forgotten a lot of my Spanish. Then I went to chemistry and that course seems interesting so I was very happy about that.
Anyway, the first day of school was pretty great and I am so excited to see what happens this year!
Good luck to everyone starting their first day of school. Hope it goes great!
