If I had a million dollars, I would spend it in this order:
1. Save exact amount to pay off student loans
2. Get more tattoos
3. TRAVEL THE WORLD
If I could just drop everything and travel the world right now, I absolutely WOULD. I've only been out of the USA once, and that was to Canada when I was a child, which I don't remember anything from, except maybe a train ride?
I unfortunately lack the funds at this moment in time, so the world traveling will have to wait. But, I have been lucky enough in my young life to have traveled to many exciting places, and these are a few of my favorites.
1. New York City, New York
2. Chicago, Illinois
For those who don't know, I grew up in an extremely small town with a population of 1,063 people. It's safe to say I am FASCINATED by big cities. So of course, Chicago was awarded my second favorite place. Since Chicago is relatively close to the Wisconsin/Illinois border, I've been there multiple times. My first time visiting Chicago, however, was in April of 2012 with my mom, brother and sister. Not quite as crowded as NYC, Chicago has, in my opinion, an old charm about it. Chicago was beautiful without being overwhelming, like New York City can be at times. The street performers were the cherry on top of this trip.
3. The Pike Lake Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, Wisconsin
The last of my favorite places I'll write about this time around is one of my more recent discoveries, and it's close to home. I recently rekindled an old passion of mine: hiking. I was bored one night in October of 2015, so I planned a hiking trip to Kettle Moraine State forest, which is near Slinger, WI. It's only about 50 minutes away from my college town of Whitewater. I had researched the Pike Lake Unit of this state forest and saw the most phenomenal photos from the top of the Powder Hill observation tower. The minute I saw the view in person, I cried. Photos simply don't represent this view's ability to take your breath away. Even if you don't hike, you need to see this at some point in your life.
4. Honorable Mention: Disney World! (Specifically Epcot, because it's like traveling the world without leaving Florida.)
I would definitely recommend all of these places if you're looking for some adventure. Stay curious, my friends.
