So you've just finished your junior year of high school, huh? Excited to be a senior and move on to bigger and better things? Good. You should be. Your senior year will be one of the most gratifying times in your life as a kid before the real world sets in.
Though it is one of the most satisfying life experiences you'll have, it can become very stressful very quickly. So without further ado, here is my advice to get through your final year of high school.
1. First and foremost, it's okay to not know what you're doing with your life.
It takes some people half a lifetime to find their true passion, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. You'll figure it out someday.
2. Get a planner.
Now. Today. They have them at Target. Go get one and start writing everything down. How else will you get those nice cords at graduation? You gotta remember when your meetings are!
3. Don't you dare let anyone take this away from you.
You'll run into plenty of people that will tell you that you don't know what the real world is and other negative clichés. You don't have to listen to these people. They may be right, but that doesn't mean you aren't allowed to have fun in your last year of freedom.
4. Be proud of your cap and gown.
They may not be the most attractive things in the world, but love every moment you get to wear it. It symbolizes everything you worked for over 13 years.
5. Take it all in.
Graduation will be here before you know it and you'll sit in that gym/auditorium/convocation center thinking "Wow, is this really here?" And let me tell you, it won't feel real until about two weeks later when you finally post on Facebook that you're "officially" high school alumni.
In conclusion, love every moment of your senior year. Live presently in every single day, feeling, and class of your senior year, because before you know it, it'll all be over. I wish every single one of you the best, and finally, congratulations to the class of 2017!
