Must Do Fall Activities

Well, October is finally here and that means one important thing: fall is finally here. I'm a huge summer person, I love the heat, and the beach, and pretty much everything that has to do with summer. However, once the leaves turn and the air becomes crisp I suddenly get really excited. Fall is such a fun season with so many things to do, chances to cuddle up, and weather that's manageable. Here are some must-do's for this fall season:

1. Pumpkin Picking

Starting off with the most common and most loved fall activity. I think it's impossible to go an entire fall season without a trip to the pumpkin patch. Carving the pumpkins and making the pumpkin seeds are even better too.

2. Apple picking

Similar to pumpkin picking, but still separate and important. Apple picking is more of an early fall activity, usually done prior to pumpkin picking. There is nothing better than a fresh, crisp, sweet apple.

3. Hiking

Finding the perfect hiking spot in the fall is key. Getting away from it all, breathing in the clean chilly air, and looking at all the leaves turning around you is a perfect afternoon.

4. Scary movie marathon

Halloween is one of the main things that comes along with fall, which means all things scary. Grab a blanket, someone to cuddle up with, and get scared!

5. Celebrate Halloween

Halloween is the only time of they year that you get to dress up and be someone you're not. Everyone always gets so into this holiday and it's a great way to spend time with your friends.

6. Give thanks

With all the fun things that come along with fall, we cannot forget the most important day of the season: Thanksgiving. It's a day devoted to being thankful for what you have. It's a day to spend with people you love and take a step back and appreciate what you have.

7. Go to a football game

Professional, college, any type of high school game is necessary in the fall. Throw on a sweatshirt, grab a beer, and enjoy!

8. Go to a haunted house

Since fall is all things scary, it only makes sense to go to a haunted house. Whether it's outside, inside, or wherever it may be, haunted housed are fun to go to. Just make sure you have a group to protect you.

Fall is a time to get together with friends, throw on a cute sweater, and have fun! Don't miss out on all the activities autumn has to offer.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
