When I'm down and out, the headphones go in, and I put on this playlist.
1. What Now by Rihanna
Not only a phenomenal song, but also an amazing way to have all the feelings at one time. This song is almost guaranteed to make you cry if you are sad. (video courtesy of RihannaNow.com )
2. Gravity by Sara Bareilles
Sara Bareilles never fails to send chills up and down the spine, especially with this hit she put out back in 2009. With a song about wanting to be let go, and the other person still holding on, she lets us feel what she's feeling. The tempo and key are gorgeous, and it brings me to tears every time. 3. Glitter In the Air by P!nk
Everyone thinks of P!nk as this hard rock style artist, but her softer jams can really bring out the feels. This song really talks about the nature of feelings and what is like to just kind of being feeling your way through life. This song is not as low as one or two, but it is really nice and calming as well as beautifully written. (video courtesy of P!nk VEVO)
4. Asleep by The Smiths
<span id="selection-marker-1" class="redactor-selection-marker"> </span>
A classic song which was first introduced to me by the movie "Perks of Being a Wallflower." This one is especially sad, as it is talking about suicide, so be warned. It has a very mellow feel to it, and can really give you the chills if you listen to it closely. (video courtesy of ChrissyEllen62 )
5. Stay by Rihanna
Another song off of Rihanna's hit album "Unapologetic." This song hits right where it hurts, and really gives off the feeling that Rihanna just wants someone to stay with her. Such a beautiful song, especially for those who are separating from loved ones in any circumstance. (video courtesy of Rihanna VEVO)
6. Like I'm Gonna Lose You by Meghan Trainor ft. John Legend
<span id="selection-marker-1" class="redactor-selection-marker"> </span>
Last but not least, a beautiful duet with Meghan Trainor and John Legend. Such a heartfelt song, not to mention able to make you cry about separation. (video courtesy of Meghan Trainor VEVO)
If you need a playlist that will felt you just feel all the feels, add these to it and build from there. Maybe let Pandora give you a little assistance or even Spotify Radio. Either way, if you are sad, let it happen. Feel what you've got to, then move on. You got this.
