Music Changed Me

This is my experience through choir and show choir, and how it changed me.

Music Changed Me
Chandler Clark

In seventh grade I found myself and my interests. I loved to sing. I always knew this, but I never knew all of the options that there were to become musically involved. I signed up for choir as soon as I could, in fact I think I signed up for that before I signed up for any other classes. I've met so many great people through this activity. I became interested in show choir during this time, so I auditioned and made it. However, I made the decision to not participate that year because there were a lot of people in the group of whom I did not like. Although I did not get involved with show choir, I was in the musical. That year we did "Guys & Dolls Jr." and let me tell you: it was the best thing I have ever done with my life. It was fun, and the show turned out to be great! I sometimes tend to sit back and think of just how much fun I had being a part of that show. During eighth grade, I became involved with show choir. I had a blast during this time, and once again I made new friends through this journey, I will just tell you... We sucked, and we never got anything above participation... So.. Yeah, thats how that went. These were two years who made me the person I am today. I have learned who I really am. I have changed in ways that are almost indescribable. But I wouldn't go back and change a thing.

When I was a child, I used to look forward to Memorial Day Weekend from the time I returned to school after Christmas vacation. It was the yearly benchmark announcing the end of the school year and the beginning of summer vacation. It meant I was one step closer to regattas, swim meets and tennis matches.
