New Music Artists for the Fall

Every season reminds me of a genre of music. In the summer, typically country and pop music reign most popular, as for fall, I tend to fall back on rock and alternative music.

Most recently, I went on a little search for new music and in these past weeks I found a few artists that are really a joy to listen to and they currently fill my Fall Spotify playlist. If your playlist needs an update or you're feeling adventurous definitely give these bands a listen!

1. Anarbor

Although Anarbor isn't an unknown band, I think many people haven't listened to them and they really should. Recently, they redesigned their music style from a heavier punk rock band to something a bit more chill. Their music is more upbeat on their most recent album and it definitely sets itself apart from previous albums. Also, their music proves to have more meaning than a lot of the popular artists today. I recommend listening to their entire self-titled album Anarbor.

2. The Band CAMINO

The Band CAMINO is not a well-known band, but their style is most definitely unique and should be recognized. This band was recommended to me on Spotify because I listened to Anarbor, so the style is similar but they are most definitely different. At first hear, I wasn't sure about them, but the more I listened to them, the more I realized that their music is fantastic, especially their acoustic versions.

In addition to "Black and White" by The Band CAMINO, listen to their songs "I Spend Too Much Time in My Room" and "Young" on their EP The Band CAMINO.

3. Aquilo

Aquilo is a band mostly known in the UK. I have known of this band for a while now, but most recently I rediscovered how enjoyable they are to listen to. Their music is very chill and almost perfect for cold, fall nights.

4. Emarosa

Emarosa was recommended to me by a friend of mine and their most recent album is a great listen. The singer's voice is absolutely amazing and the music itself has a lot of depth. In addition to this song, I recommend listening to "Young Lonely" and "Hurt."

5. Lauv

Lauv is another artist that I've known of for a year-or-so now, but I definitely feel like he should be more recognized. He came out with a few new songs in the past month and they are worth the listen. The song "The Other" is really catchy and lyrically beautiful, and his voice is very relaxing.

6. Moose Blood

Moose Blood is very unique and their punk-rock vibe reminds of rainy fall days. Their recent album Blush caught my eye a few months ago and to be honest, they haven't left my playlist. Their songs "Knuckles" and "Cheek" are my personal favorites.

These are six artists that I think deserve more attention and will revamp your playlist!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
