2018 has been an exciting year for film to say the least. The Black Panther, for instance, has exploded and has been a critical and commercial success, breaking box office records. Some of these films may have already been released by the time this article gets published. Here are some movies to anticipate in 2018

The long awaited, long anticipated follow up to The Incredibles back in 2004 will be hitting theaters everywhere on June 15th. This film will have the family getting into action to save the world. Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) is left to care for Jack-Jack, along with his other children, while Helen (Elastigirl) is gone. This film explores Jack-Jack’s abilities as he joins his superhero family in their fight against crime. It has a mostly similar cast with Brad Bird directing and John Walker producing again. It is staying authentic which makes it a promising movie.
3. Deadpool 2
The sequel to the 2016 film Deadpool which was a box office hit, will be coming to theaters in the U.S. on May 18th. Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, (Ryan Reynolds) forms a new team to fight against crime. On his adventure, he learns about the significance of his relationships. Hopefully this film matches the success of its predecessor using the same charm and humor that won audiences over the first time. It is important to note that unfortunately,a stunt-woman, identified as Joi “SJ” Harris, passed away in the filming and production process.
4. Mama Mia: Here We Go Away
This Rom-com musical is a sequel to the 2008 movie Mama Mia! which was based on the musical.Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is trying to figure out how to handle her pregnancy while seeking guidance from her friends and family. Along the way she discovers some things about her mothers past wile she herself was pregnant. The film will be directed by Ol Parker and is set to be released this July.
5. Ocean's 8
Almost 2 decades after the 2001 release of the original film Oceans 11, Oceans 8th will be hitting theaters. With a release date set for June 8, 2018, the spin-off with an all-female cast starring Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchette, Rihanna and more.The movie follows Danny Oceans sister, Debbie Ocean, attempting to pull off a heist at the Met Ball along with a group of eight woman. The film will also star several celebrities making cameo appearances such as Serena Williams, Kim Kardashian, Alexander Wang, and Katie Holmes.
6. Love, Simon
In Love Simon, seventeen-year old Simon Spier is hiding the secret that he's gay from everybody he knows. The film follows Simon in his journey of self in discovery in which he comes to terms with his sexuality and comes out in the process. Exploring themes such as loneliness, love, confusion, and harassment, Love Simon is sure to strike a chord with LGBT audiences.
7. If Beale Street Could Talk
Based on the James Baldwin novel, Set in Harlem, it follows a woman who seeks to free her falsely imprisoned fiancé. This is Barry Jenkins followup the 2016 critically acclaimed film. A lot of details concerning the film are still ambiguous including the release date. The film is set to be released before the end of 2018.
8. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
In another installment in the Jurassic Park film series and a sequel to the 2015 film Jurassic World, this movie stars the same cast as the last film but with J.A. Bayona directing instead.Jurassic World revolves around Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) on an adventure to rescue the remaining dinosaurs. A sequel to this film is already confirmed for release in 2021.
9. Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers Infinity War is a sequel to the past 2 Avengers films Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and The Avengers (2012). This movie follows The Avengers and their allies to defeat the powerful Thano and protect the world from any threats that endanger humanity. Initially made to be a 2 part movie releasing in 2018 and 2019, Marvel decided to condense all the action into one film which is what could make this films potential exciting. The release date is set for April 27th.
10. Solo: A Star Wars Story
Directed by Ron Howard, Solo: A Star Wars Story is a standalone film that is a prequel to the original trilogy. A space western movie that centers around the adventures of Han Solo and his sidekick Chewbacca along with their encounters.With a promising cast that stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, and more, the film is sure to entertain viewers everywhere. Solo releases in U.S. Theaters on May 25, 2018.
