5 Movies Coming To Netflix This Winter Break

5 Movies Coming To Netflix This Winter Break

Winter break is upon us. And so are new Netflix movies!

For those of us who plan on being completely unproductive this break, all aboard marination station! Winter break is so long and what better way to waste time than binge-watch Netflix. Here are five movies coming to Netflix this month:


1. See You in Valhalla

"Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland plays a darker role as Johana Burwood in "See You in Valhalla." After the bizarre death of her brother, she returns home to her strange siblings, distant father, and downright eccentric home. Eventually, she is forced to reveal secrets about her past and deal with an ex-boyfriend that just won't let go. If you like comedy with a dark twist, this is your movie.


2. A Very Murray Christmas

Get into the holiday spirit with Bill Murray with this holiday Netflix special. The variety show special will be hosted by Bill Murray and feature famous celebs like Amy Poehler, Chris Rock, George Clooney, and Miley Cyrus, among many others. But the show is only an hour long, so you'll have to find another way to waste your time during this (long) winter break.


3. The Da Vinci Code

If you like to be completely confused, this is the movie for you. This mystery thriller will keep you thinking the entire movie. A murder inside the Louvre leads Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) to a mysterious 2,000-year-old religious society. Definitely going to need to pay attention to this one.


4. Phoenix

Based in post-WWII Germany, Phoenix is a powerful drama about a concentration camp survivor that is forced to undergo reconstructive surgery on her face after trauma in the camp. Nelly (Nina Hoss) is completely unrecognizable with her new face, and she is forced to find a new identity and start over. She begins to question the people closest to her: Could her own husband have turned her over to the Nazis?


5. Tangerine

"Tangerine" is a story about transgender prostitutes in Los Angeles. The indie flick was filmed strictly on iPhones and gets an inside look on the day in the life of Sin-Dee Rella and her trans best friend, Alexandra. Christmas Eve, Sin-Dee had just finished up her 28-day jail sentence when she found out her boyfriend/pimp was cheating on her while she was inside. Her friend joins her on a hysterical, eccentric quest to find him and teach him a lesson or two.
