8 Motivators To Get You Through Finals Week

We all know we could use some motivation.

With finals coming up in the next few weeks for most college students, many are running low on fuel. I know I'm ready to be finished with this semester. I thought I could remind you all of some of the reasons to push through and finish the semester strong. Once you get through finals you can look forward to all of these things:

1. SUMMERTIME

"Summertime and the livin' is easy!" -Ella Fitzgerald

Get ready to have the best summer of your life! There are so many opportunities to make this summer the best yet. Get out and try new things, make some great memories.

2. You'll Get To See Friends From Home

This is probably the biggest motivation for me personally to get through finals. I miss my best friend so much!! I cannot wait to see her all the time and spend time catching up. College is busy and summer is a time to build up those long-distance friendships.

3. You Can Make Some Money

Another motivator is the chance to make a lot of money! If you choose, you can work a ton of hours at your job or even multiple jobs. Be smart and save money for after college, but also have fun and splurge on yourself every once in a while. Go on that shopping trip with your best friends and get a good lunch afterward.

4. No More Homework

Quite possibly the best part about finals week being over is... NO MORE HOMEWORK! YAY!!! I'm so done with doing homework every day and cannot wait for summer and having a lot more free time. Homework takes up so much of my time at school and a lot of it is pointless to work.

5. You'll Get To Hang With Your Family

I'm also excited to hang out with my family a lot. I'm really close to my parents and grandparents (who live two doors up from us) so I look forward to visiting with them when I'm free. Family time is important to me and during the school semesters I hardly ever get to see my family. Summer is the time to enjoy the time I have left living with them!

6. You'll Get To Play With Your Pets

I know one of everyone's favorite parts about going home is getting to cuddle up with their pets. I have my bunny, Thumper at school with me but my dog, Jingles lives at home. Even though he's a brat, (haha) it will still be nice to play with him. Most people's dogs and other pets are friendlier than mine so I'm sure you can expect to have lots of fun with them!

7. You Can Plan A Vacation

Summer is the best time to take a vacation, of course. I can't wait to plan something fun with either my fiancé, my family, or my friends to travel somewhere new. Utilize sites like TripAdvisor to help you find the best place to go with the most affordable attractions and hotels. Be bold and try somewhere you've never been before!

8. You'll Have Time To Binge Netflix

Lots of free time means lots of Netflix! I plan on bingeing Jane the Virgin this summer since I've only had time to watch the first five episodes this semester. Some of my other favorites are The Office (duh!!) and Grey's Anatomy. Browse what shows are available and find one you like or rewatch your favorite series!

I hope I've given you a little bit of motivation with these things to look forward to! YOU CAN DO IT! We are almost there, just push through and you'll be glad later!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

The people that spend their summers at the lake are a unique group of people.

Whether you grew up going to the lake, have only recently started going, or have only been once or twice, you know it takes a certain kind of person to be a lake person. To the long-time lake people, the lake holds a special place in your heart, no matter how dirty the water may look.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
