1. The Student That Chose Their Major For The Wrong Reasons

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”

-Mitch Albom, "Tuesday's with Morrie"

Do not live for someone else. Whether it's your parents, teachers, friends, etc. Choose a life you love to live; afterall, it is yours.

2. The Student That Doubts Them-self Because Of Their Past

“So, I guess we are who we are for alot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.”

-Stephen Chbosky, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"

You cannot rewind the past, but you can create your own future. Do not let where you came from affect where you are going.

3. The Student That Is Thinking About Giving Up

"Just When The Caterpillar Thought Its World Was Over, It Turned Into A Beautiful Butterfly"

-Barbara Haines Howett

Tomorrow might be the best day of your life. I hope that you choose to see it.

4. The Student That Needs To Live In The Now

"It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re 17 and planning for someday and then quietly and without you really noticing someday is today and then someday is yesterday and this is your life."

-"One Tree Hill"

Revel in every moment. Study and learn; but do not forget to make memories while you are here. One day we will wake up and have a completely different life style and responsibilities that we did not have before. Laugh and cry, but at the end of it all, be able to say you truly lived.

5. The Student That Questions Their Own Worth

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Do not worry about the past, because it is gone. Do not fret about the future, because it is not here. Live everyday knowing your worth and always believe in yourself.

6. All Students

"I just want you to know that you're very special, and the only reason I'm telling you that is because I don't know if anyone else ever has."

Stephen Chbosky, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"

Every single person on this planet means something to someone. You are unique and beautiful in your own way. I hope I am not the only one that has told you, but if so, I just want you to know that you are very special.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
