It’s not always easy staying fit and healthy. Some of us struggle with eating right, while others of us struggle to get up and moving. The gym isn’t always everybody’s forte, but there are always alternative ways to get moving, whether it’s a fitness class, watching fitness video, or Poke-walking.Even if we find an activity that gets us moving, sometimes it is still hard to stay motivated, but one thing that I have found to be most effective in keeping me motivated is listening to music, but not all music is the same. The best music to listen to when you’re trying to break a sweat is something upbeat and fun, something that amps you up, or something that has a motivational message. Here is my go to playlist when I’m trying to work out:
“Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor
It's a classic! Who doesn't remember Rocky climbing up those stairs?
“Run the World (Girls)” by Beyonce''
I was introduced to this song when I did color guard in high school. This was our go to crunches song.
“It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi
I was raised in a Bon Jovi household, so I have to include JBJ.
“Not Afraid” by Eminem
Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone.
“Final Countdown” by Europe
This is a great song when you are on your last minute on the treadmill.
“Commander” by Kelly Rowland
This was another song that I was introduced to in high school, and it's great for dance workouts.
“Happy” by Pharrell
Listen to this song before any workout to get yourself pumped up and excited!
“Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey
Seriously, don't stop believing in yourself! Keep going!
“Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
This song has a great beat and always gets me pumped up before a workout.
“Pour Some Sugar On Me” by Def Leppard
Def Leppard was also a favorite of mine growing up, and I find that it helps me in my workouts too.
“All Star” by Smash Mouth
I will always think of "Shrek: when I hear this song, but it's got a great beat.
“Remember the Name” by Fort Minor
This is probably my favorite song when I work out. This is the song that makes you want to continue your workout.
“We Will Rock You” by Queen
There's a reason we always hear this song at sporting events.
“We Are The Champions” by Queen
Imagine this song playing after you nail your workout... imagine it!
“Thunderstruck” by AC/DC
Just the intro in itself is enough to get a person energized and ready to move!
“Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana
A little teen spirit never hurt anybody.
“Let The Bodies Hit The Floor” by Drowning Pool
Your body will be hitting the floor after the workout!
“Breath” by Breaking Benjamin
This song will leave you... out of breath! ;)
“Numb” by Linkin Park

“What You Want” by Evanescence
This rock song is perfect to listen to if "what you want" is to survive your workout.
"Pop That Lock" by Adam Lambert
Adam Lambert is my favorite musician, and this song always makes me want to dance!
"Centuries" by Fall Out Boy
I used to hear this song every time I went to a Hershey Bears hockey game and now I can't imagine this song without people moving around to it!
