For people who are graduating high school, this summer is the last before the next stage of their life, or this summer is the summer of deciding what to do after graduating high school the next year. Students will either be applying to colleges or will be deciding what type of person they are going to be when they enter college. Either way, this summer is the transitional time that grown-ups consider to be pivotal to a person’s future, which can cause a lot of stress.
It is important to remember, however, that you are in charge of your own future. Regardless of what others say, it is your decisions that will impact your life, so here is some motivation to help you get through the last few weeks of school before taking the summer to relax and then conquer the world
1. The Future
“You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” – Steve Jobs
“Map out your future - but do it in pencil. The road ahead is as long as you make it. Make it worth the trip.”- Jon Bon Jovi
Don’t worry about making the wrong decisions. You have to have trust in your gut that you made the right choice and stick with it. If you have insecurities about your decision, it will only hinder the amount of heart you put into making it work. You have to go all in. All 100%.
2. Perseverance
“All life demands struggle. Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life. The very striving and hard work that we so constantly try to avoid is the major building block in the person we are today." –Pope Paul VI
“Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.” –Newt Gringrich
“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” –Lena Horne
Remember whenever difficulties come your way and you feel like you have no way out of it, it is just the universe’s way of testing you to make sure that you don’t become a person with no value to life. Facing, and getting through struggles are what build character. A strong character is what allows a person to succeed.
3. Success
Work hard for what you want because it won't come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.” –Leah LaBelle
“No matter what you're going through, there's a light at the end of the tunnel and it may seem hard to get to it but you can do it and just keep working towards it and you'll find the positive side of things.” –Demi Lovato
“When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” –Thomas Jefferson
To stay positive during difficult situations among one of the hardest things that people have had to do. However, good things always come to those who work for it, and they can succeed despite the setbacks and false starts and failures. These people are the ones who succeed in the end. No matter how difficult the situation may seem, if you keep working with that end goal in mind, there is always a way to get to where you want to go.
And finally…
4. POWER
“We do not need magic to change the world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.” –J.K. Rowling
Take the words from the queen of literature herself and remember—YOU have the power.
