As Mother's Day is approaching, it gives us daughters the time to reflect on our relationships with our mothers. I am lucky enough to have a bond with my mother that is unlike anything I've ever experienced. This time also gives us time to reflect on relationships that we have with other women in our lives that are like other mothers to us. I am beyond grateful that I have many women in my life that I look up to and rely on like I rely on my mother.
These women inspire me, look out for me and teach me every day of my life. They inspire me to be the person who I am today. Some of these women I am related to while others chose to be these special people in my life. That is what makes those relationships so special. They didn't have to do the things they do and they don't have to be these maternal figures to me but it is so special that they do.
Your mother has to tell you that everything you do is good and that you should always follow your dreams. These other women in your life are there to tell you the harsh truths but still encourage you to do what you want to do in your life. These women are too special in your life to ignore. In my experience, having these different views on your life allow you to have an open mind with what you do in the future and how you live your life. I turn to all of these women in every situation I am in to get all the different sides and then make my final decision.
If you have these type of people in your life, you are one of the lucky ones. If you are that person to someone, you are so appreciated in these people's lives. They may not tell you all the time, but you know and they know how special you are to them. To those who are special to me, I want to thank you. I have many and I am so lucky that I do because without each and every single one of you I would not be able to do and accomplish all that I have in my lifetime.
