Everyone who goes to York College automatically assumes that York City in general is a boring, two-star town with nothing to do but porch drink on Jackson Street or go to Murph's Study Hall. Little do the students know about all the underrated, fascinating places downtown, there are so many places that will grab everyone's attention regardless of what you are interested in.
I've listed a few but there are so many more places for foodie people, those who love to shop until they drop, and there are places that have a variety of hobbies to get involved in. If you are currently here over the summer and have free time it is an ideal time to check out some of these shops!

This market is diverse and the culturally influenced part of York city. People from all around the town come to mingle and and support the economic and social heart of the city. Whether you are on your lunch break from your 9-5pm job or, just stopping in for some fresh produce for the night’s dinner, the Central Market is a great pit stop when in the city.

Indigo Bleu
This clothing store is located on 39 W Philadelphia Street, it is a bohemian boutique for women. This store is especially unique because the owner, Zarah Brooks is a York College graduate and built the business from the ground up. The clothing and accessories can be a tiny bit pricey but it is worth every penny. Now, get down to Indigo Bleu and see for yourself how chic meets tranquility.
