I don't know about you but when I think about things I am looking forward doing this summer I think about "summer blockbusters," or in other words, the most anticipated films premiering this summer. Going to the movie is a great outlet after work. I mean the 5 dollar deal at Marcus Theaters in La Crosse on Tuesdays is a great discount in my opinion--plus free popcorn if you have their rewards card. Any genre--chick flick, romance, animated, or horror--you name it. It will satisfy your hunger for a good story. If you haven't researched or heard of some anticipated films coming out this summer, don't stress. The following is the list of movies I believe are going to impact the box summer office:
1. "X-Men: Apocalypse" (In Theaters)
Micheal Fassbender, Nicholas Hult, Lucas Till, and Jame McAvoy--just a few reasons to watch the third installment to the series.
2. "Alice Through the Looking Glass" (In Theaters)
After seeing the first film, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and reading both novels, I am excited to see how Burton has adapted Carroll's second novel.
3. "Me Before You" (June 3)
From the trailers of this film, I can't wait to see this movie. While it seems like a Nicholas Spark tear jerker movie, the trailer reflects a cute romantic comedy.
4. "Now You See Me 2" (June 10)
While the original gang has been dismembered, Jesse Eisenberg's character still seems to bring magic into the air.
5. "Finding Dory" (June 17)
It's been 13 years since Finding Nemo premiered in theaters and touched the hearts of children and adults. Now, it's time for Dory to be found.
6. "Independence Day: Resurgence" (June 24)
If you haven't seen Will Smith's Independence Day, you need to rent it now or before you decide to see the sequel. Trust me; you will enjoy it.
7. "The Legend of Tarzan" (July 1)
Phil Collin's musical voice will not be featured in this non-animated version of Tarzan's story. But by watching the trailer, I am sure no one will be disappointed in this adaptation.
8. "The Secret Life of Pets" (July 8)
After Finding Dory, I believe this movie is the second most anticipated animated film coming out this summer. A movie where animals have a secret life where they can talk! I know that intrigues me.
9. "Ghostbusters" (July 15)
"If there's something strange / in your neighborhood / Who you gonna call / Ghostbusters!" Who isn't going to see this movie?
10. "Café Society" (August 12)
If you are a Woody Allen fan, this movie will peak your interest. I have only seen a couple of his movies, but I love the time period--the 30s. Therefore, I will definitely be seeing this movie when it comes out!
And there you have it! This is take over hours of your time throughout the summer. Choose one or more of these movies-- you will not be disappointed!
